Just an update as I have been a bit quiet recently. We have a litter of 5 tundra kittens currently that are 2 weeks old... Sadly, however, their momma had a medical emergency due to their birth, and she ended up passing away at our vet. I have been in shock, saddened, and trying to navigate being her babies momma now for her...which includes feeding them round the clock, all while still working my very demanding 9-5 remote (thankfully) job. They are doing well and I pray they continue to do so! We have never in all our years had anything like this happen. She had retained placentas and I did not know since I did not see the first few births. I assumed they were eaten..she was happily eating, drinking, and nursing her babies the whole day after having them, until the following day when she started bleeding, wouldn't go near them, and was clearly going into shock. 😭 I rushed her to the vet right away. She was perking up and I was preparing to go get her that Sat am. Then came the call, I never expected. She suddenly took a turn and passed most likely from septic shock. We all were devastated. My whole vet team was so distraught as well. She was one of my girls I had since a kitten and was from my original crew. These past 2 weeks haven't been easy. I need to stay close by at all times to meet their feeding schedule needs. Sleep has been scarce, but they are thriving. They have a special place in my heart, being a part of her. I will not be sharing updates on this litter until we make it to the 4 week mark.
I do have a maine c**n and another tundra momma on maternity watch as well. I will share updates on them as they are born.
Please keep in mind we do have a paid waiting list for these litters. I have the list currently closed until we get through those waiting.
I have still been responsive to messages if you have questions or are sharing updates of your current babies from us ❤️ it just may be delayed due to this all. I will resume posts again within the next couple weeks. Thank you all for understanding 🙏 My heart is still broken.
