Dylan 22 made light work of his first 1.40m today and not just any class, a $30,000 1.40 Prix. Calm, confident, and right at home.

What people don’t see is the six months before this. Walking jumps. Cantering poles. Quiet flatwork. Rebuilding the basics.

I bought him when he was labeled “out of control.” Big names had decided he was too difficult to bother with. For the first three months I honestly wondered what I had done. But he had heart. He had character. And every week there was just enough improvement to keep me believing.

So I stayed patient. I slowed down. I built him instead of fighting him.

Today was the reward.

The “difficult” ones are often just waiting for someone to listen. Futures looking bright for this one. ✨
