Sweet little Lucy got her first big girl clip today! And even though she wasn't a fan of the clippers, as most puppies aren't lol, she let me do what was needed.

It's Spring! Which means all the wildlife is waking up and in the country, even some inner city ares, we have Skunks. If you've ever had a dog get too close, you know just how bad it can be for everyone involved when they get sprayed.

Do Not Hose Them Down!
I repeat...
DO NOT USE WATER TO IMMEDIATELY WASH THEM OFF!
It will only make it worse and last for so much longer.

Instead, make this paste, cover all the sprayed areas and let them sit for at least 10 min if not longer. (Use gloves if the spray is very green and thick as the smell may transfer to your skin.)

IMPORTANT NOTE: Mix ingredients in an open container and use immediately and discard any excess; it must be applied while bubbling and cannot be stored as it will likely explode if left sealed. And do this outside if at all possible, you'll thank me later.

1/4 cup of baking soda
1-2 tsp of original Dawn dish soap (or any decreasing soap as long as it's pet safe)
And 32 oz. of Hydrogen Peroxide

You can adjust the amounts as needed to make it thicker or thinner depending on your dog's coat. Make sure to keep them from licking it and let it soak, after lathering well, for up to 10-15min.

I am delighted to share a final update on my recovery from the April accident. I am thrilled to report that I have made significant progress, with no lingering pain or stiffness, as long as I pace myself.
Becauseof this, I have opted to keep my grooming business modest in scale and cease offering boarding services.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your unwavering understanding and support; your compassion has been instrumental in my recovery❤

And as we approach the holiday season, I look forward to helping prepare your furbabies!

UPDATE: 11 weeks after accident...

I have bad news unfortunately.
While I thought I'd be returning to work this week, I've actually been bed ridden for the past week with a bad case of vertigo. I was able to make a physical therapy session today and they are really concerned with my nervous system and how it's responding. Tension or stress of any kind induces heavy vertigo, meaning it's still very unsafe for me to work.
I truly believed I would be back by now, but my brainstem must have had more damage to it than we expected when I was spun at such a high speed.
I'm dizzy even as I'm typing this out.
Still, I apologize profusely from the bottom of my heart for not being ready to care for your fur babies yet. I feel horrible for not being able to start working yet but I need to do right by my body and not make things even worse. I'm still looking at weeks of PT and there's no way of knowing when I'll be okay enough to work safely again.
I wish I had a better answer, but I just don't and I'm devastated. Please do whatever you need to for getting your babies groomed. I'll be fine, I'm just worried about them❤🐶

Update: 7 days after the car accident.

Hello everyone, it looks like I'll be out for a lot longer than I initially thought or wanted.
I'm looking at being off for a full 4 weeks starting from the 8th of April.
And that's IF my injuries have improved enough.

I'm going to do my best in contacting everyone but if you know your appt is coming up before May 5th and your pup is desperate for the appt they had with me already, you may want to look at other salons.

When I do return it will be light duty.
Meaning unless your pup is a super well behaved big dog, I will most likely be unable to groom them for a couple of months.

This has turned into so much more than I had first thought and I am torn up by having to close this long but I really don't have any other choice.

I love you all and hope this is just temporary, cause I already miss your furkids so much!

***I will NOT have another groomer contact you on my behalf to take over my services. When I recommend someone, it will come from me directly and not them so you know you can trust it. Please do your own research on all groomers you plan to use! Do not trust random messages!***

28 days after the accident:
I wanted to share my progress with you.
The good news is that I'm finally on the mend, and the constant pain is behind me. The not-so-good news is that I'll need another month of slow rehabilitation with physical therapy, but I'm staying positive and focusing on my recovery.
In the meantime, I encourage you to find another amazing groomer to care for your fur babies. I'm so grateful for your patience and understanding.
I love and miss you all, and I'll keep you updated on my journey to full recovery. I'm looking forward to being back to my best self soon! ❤🐶

Update 14 days after:
I'm still in a lot of pain and will be seeing a specialist after having an MRI. So I'll be remaining closed for a couple more weeks if not more.
Please keep in mind that if your pup needs grooming now or even soon I'd highly recommend finding another groomer to help.
I appreciate all of you so much and will do my best to keep you all in the know as to when I'll be back. 🐶❤
