🖤🧡 There's a new face in the HP4 colony — and this one is STUNNING.

This gorgeous long-haired dark tortoiseshell appeared recently, seemingly out of nowhere. We don't know their story — whether they found us on their own or were left behind — but they're here now, and they're our responsibility. 🐾

Getting them spayed/neutered and vaccinated for rabies costs just $23 at our clinic. That's it. That's all it takes to change the trajectory of their life.

This sweet, pale orange boy (or girl — we don't know yet!) showed up in the colony recently. We're not sure if they wandered in on their own or were dropped off, but one thing is certain — they need our help. 🧡

Spring has officially entered the “uh oh, there are babies” phase. 🌸🐾

We have a tuxedo mama at the Hoodrail P***y Progeny Prevention Program colony who is way too smart for standard traps… and she just had three tiny babies. Like… eyes-still-closed, less-than-two-weeks tiny.

The problem:
She keeps moving them into a yard with a dog who has a high prey drive.

She’s doing what good moms do… trying to hide them.
But it’s not safe, and every move puts them at risk.

What we need is a drop trap — it’s the only way we’re going to safely catch this savvy mama and keep her with her babies.

So here’s the plan for tomorrow:

100 people × $3 = one drop trap = one safe mama + three babies

That’s it.
No big fundraiser. No huge ask. Just small, collective impact.

💛 If 100 people give $3, we order the trap Thursday.
💛 If we get there fast, we can move before anything goes wrong.

We are trying some other tactics in the meantime, but having a drop trap will mean we can help more cats and kittens not only now, but in the future as well.

🎸 **ATTENTION HOODRAIL COLONY: A STAR HAS LANDED** 🎸

Friends, we'd like to introduce the newest addition to the HP4 alumni roster: **Ziggy Stardust**.

This absolute UNIT of a white tom materialized out of nowhere last night — one blue eye, one green eye, approximately the size of a small couch, and the energy of a rock legend who knows he's too cool to hang with the regular colony cats. We don't know where he came from. We don't know where he's been. He probably has a rider with specific deli meat requirements.

Ziggy doesn't *live* here. He just *passes through*. Very mysterious. Very David Bowie. Very unbothered.

Well, Ziggy — we hate to break it to you, babe, but tomorrow you've got an appointment that's going to make your star power a little... *dimmer* in one specific department. 🌟✂️

Thanks to the incredible generosity of a donor who clearly has excellent taste in both cats AND rock music, Ziggy will be getting the Full Hoodrail Treatment™ tomorrow morning. The colony gene pool salutes you, kind human.

To Ziggy: you may be a Starman, but after tomorrow, you won't be making any *little* Starmen.

✨🎩 **The Magical, Mystical Mr. Mestofelees** 🎩✨

Meet Mr. Mestofelees — named after the famous tuxedo cat from *Cats*… and let us tell you, he is absolutely living up to his name.

This handsome boy has been seen slipping through the trees, posing perfectly in the yard, and then vanishing like smoke. He has eaten food from *at least THREE* traps… without triggering them. 😑

He delicately nibbles around the pressure plate like a seasoned escape artist.
One time the trap door was shut… and he wasn’t even inside.

Sir.

We are officially dealing with magic.

Mr. Mestofelees clearly didn’t get the memo about Hoodrail P***y Progeny Prevention Program. He may be mystical, but we are determined. 💪

To safely bring this clever tuxedo gentleman in, we need to try a different style trap and set up a camera to outsmart him. We’re anticipating about **$100–$150** to cover the cost of a new trap and supplies to lure him in.

🚨 HP4 – FOSTER NEEDED ASAP! 🚨

This little grey fluffball is currently unnamed and needs a safe, loving foster home. I trapped this kitten today, and they’re sweet but very scared — definitely young and still getting used to humans.

🧸 Weight: ~2.2 lbs
🏠 Needs: A quiet, secure space to decompress, food/water, patience, and gentle socialization
⛔ Can’t stay here: My closet is not a safe long-term option, and I need to move the kitten into a real foster home as soon as possible.

If you can foster (or know someone who can!), PLEASE reach out. This baby deserves warmth, comfort, and a chance to thrive. 💙💚

**💙 HP4 Feral Feature: Bambam the Former Houseguest 💙**

Everyone, please meet **Bambam** — our newest graduate of the Snip-Snip Academy and the undisputed **Fluff King of Hoodrail.**

Before his appointment, Bambam gave us his best *“I am a majestic woodland creature, why have you trapped me?”* face (see Photo #1). Don’t be fooled — this man is about 70% fluff, 20% charm, and 10% mystery backstory.

And yes, we *are* convinced he hasn’t been feral his whole life. Why?
Because Bambam **meows.** With intention. With diction. With the emotional range of a middle-aged man complaining about cable service. This guy absolutely lived in someone’s house at some point — and probably had opinions on the couch pillows.

Our working theory:
Bambam once lived a life of luxury as “Sir Bamtholomew Fluffington III,” a pampered indoor prince who enjoyed head scratches, afternoon sunbeams, and pushing exactly one knickknack off the table each day (for enrichment). One fateful evening he slipped out the door, found the Hoodrail colony, and thought,
*“Ah yes. Wilderness. Independence. A new life. I shall thrive here.”*
…but only if the humans still provided cuddles.

After his surgery, I released him… and within minutes, **HE CAME RIGHT BACK FOR LOVE.**
Photos #2 and #3 show him demanding post-op snuggles like the royalty he is.

We don’t choose favorites here at HP4…
…but if we did, Bambam would be on the list. 💕

Here’s to Bambam — fluffy, friendly, newly neutered, and absolutely living his best dual lifestyle as part-feral, part-love sponge.
