Fall Dog Training Tips
Fall is an excellent time for dog training due to the cooler weather which can make training sessions more fun. Below are some tips to help you train your dog during the fall season:
Short Daily Sessions: Aim for 3-5 minutes of training twice per day to maintain your dog's focus and engagement, you can do this in between packing your lunch, putting on your shoes, and crabbing your keys and coat as you head out the door. Have fun be creative with you K9 Friend.
1 Seasonal Training Plans: Develop a seasonal training plan that meets the real-world needs of your family, including holiday guests and weekend walks or drives.
2 Use Seasonal Activities: Incorporate seasonal activities like leaf-pile recall games, structured walks on scenic trails, and walk routes to reinforce obedience and keep your dog active.
3 Indoor Training: If the weather is too cold or rainy, consider indoor training sessions or playtime in the living room.
4 Reflective Gear: Use a flashlight or reflective clothing and collars to ensure your dog is visible at night, especially when walking in the dark.
