Ever walk by, freeze, and think, “Oh no, poor turkey!” ...only to realize he’s completely fine and just aggressively sunbathing? 🦃☀️ Gave me a quick heart attack, but nope—he's just sleeping and living his absolute best life!
​It’s been a fantastic day on the farm. Mr. Larry is putting the finishing touches on the coop for the Mille Fleurs, and they are taking their job as site inspectors very seriously. They're following him around and checking every single inch of his work! 🐔🔍
​To top it all off, the cows are officially sorted until December 1st! Huge milestone checked off the list. Now if you need me, I’m going to go join that turkey in the sun.

Hey Neighbors, You know you’re living the farm life when it takes two hours to figure out how to assemble a paint sprayer and about 15 minutes to actually spray the building! 😅
​Uncle Vern and I got the turkey coop completely primed today. If the schedule holds up, the real paint goes on Wednesday!
​We’re getting everything ready for our turkeys—raising Bourbon Reds, Narragansetts, Sweetgrass, and even some Blue Fire Sweetgrass. Plus, keep an eye out next year because we’re planning to have Guineas for sale, too!
​Always learning, always trying something new around here. 🛠️🦃

Hey Neighbor!
​It’s been a busy, hot weekend around the farm, but we’ve got plenty to be thankful for!
​Larry built me a brand-new coop this weekend, and while it’s almost complete, the Mille Fleurs couldn’t wait for the official ribbon-cutting. One little gal in particular spent the entire day inspecting every inch of the coop and testing out the nesting boxes. She was so adamant about laying her egg in there that I had to rush and fill the box with bedding before Larry was even done building! The cat stopped by to check it out too, but I’m pretty sure that little hen was the real boss secretly taking measurements for Larry. 🐔🛠️
​Over on the pasture side, we welcomed a cute new bull calf on Saturday for our beef side of the farm. There is really nothing sweeter than a newborn calf, though I’m holding out hope he won't inherit his dad’s ornery streak! 🐮
​It’s been a scorching summer, but the garden has done us proud. We've got plenty put up in the pantry to get us through until next year's growing season. 🌾

Hey Neighbors! So EDIS Farmstead and I have started a little bird venture together. We pick out 2 of the blue fall fire Tom turkeys we want to use in breeding our turkey. Now mind you we have hatched about 100 birds to get a few we want to keep, we have to keep them and let them grow to a certain point before they make the cut! And today this guy comes along and plays bad neighbor! Its illeagle to shoot them and I am squeamish anyways so thank goodness for the Missouri Conservation they booked it over and took the little guy away. Talk about short man syndrome!!

Hey neighbors! I was told 4 years ago that I had to bring the lillies inside if I wanted them to live well I have never done that and this year they are spectacular. We have had as many as 7 blooming at one time. Yes there are fish in there.
I told Larry tht I would like it dropped in ground at the time we started this. I didnt want the eyesore of a water trough in the yard. But you know almost everyone stops by and visits it and find as much enjoyment in it as i do. Do you have a water area in your yard? Show me some pictures i would love to see them!

Hello neighbors. It has been an exceptionally busy period in our community, and I am amazed that we have already passed the midpoint of July. Our garden is yielding a substantial surplus. This is the first year that zucchini has grown for me, despite my annual plantings. It appears that this year's crop is making up for past failures. I also replanted borage, which the children enjoy eating. My third grandson had his first taste of borage, and a picture effectively conveys his experience. He encountered purple bell peppers and asked to eat one, which he proceeded to do.
