🎃👻 Keep Your Pets Safe This Halloween! 👻🎃

Halloween is a fun time for the family, but it can be a little spooky for our pets! Follow these tips to make sure your furry friends stay safe and happy during the holiday:

🐾 Keep Candy Out of Reach: Many Halloween treats, especially chocolate and anything containing xylitol (a common sugar substitute), are toxic to pets. Be sure to store candy in a secure place where they can't sneak a bite.

🐾 Watch Out for Costumes: While pet costumes are adorable, make sure your pet is comfortable and can breathe, move, and see clearly. Avoid costumes with small, loose parts that could pose a choking hazard.

🐾 Decorations Can Be Dangerous: Keep wires, candles, and other decorations out of reach. Pets can be curious and may chew on cords or knock over lit candles, causing fires or injuries.

🐾 Create a Safe Space: The doorbell ringing constantly and the influx of strangers can be stressful. Consider setting up a quiet, safe space for your pets during peak trick-or-treat hours.

🐾 ID and Microchips Are a Must: If your pet does slip out, proper identification can make all the difference. Make sure their ID tags are up-to-date and they're microchipped.

🐾 Glow Sticks Are Fun, but Not for Pets: While glow sticks are a Halloween favorite for kids, they can cause stomach upset if your pet chews on one. Keep these out of reach.

🐾♥️🎉Clear the Weatherford Parker Co. Animal Shelter is coming up next Saturday!! Go get your best friend! They are waiting!!

NEXT SATURDAY is our annual Clear the Shelters event!! We will have WAIVED adoption fees, raffle prizes, live music by “The Last Picture Show”, and the Funky Munky truck will be onsite serving shaved ice.

All of our pets will come already spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. All adoptions will also come with a small bag of food, a collar, and toy while supplies last.

Get in line early at our gate to secure the pet you want to adopt!!
