Our queens of the rescue, Sassie and Satu, are ready to party!

Come celebrate 20 years of rescue, love, and wagging tails at our Birthday Bash this Saturday, July 19, starting at 2pm at Frog Level Brewing Company — a dog-friendly spot, so bring your pups along to party! 🐶🍻

Meet Snooki!

🚨 Alert the boardwalk — there’s a new glam girl in town and she’s trading fist pumps for head bumps. 🐾💅

This 11-month-old silver and white tabby isn’t here to start drama — unless you’re late with the treats. Calm, collected, and cuter than a fresh spray tan, she’s the kind of girl who skips the party to binge bird videos and nap in a sunbeam.

She’s sweet like cannoli, chill like the AC on the Turnpike, and always down for a cuddle. Hair? Flawless. Attitude? None. Vibes? Immaculate.

If you’re looking for a little Jersey-style companionship without the club music, this cool cat is your girl.

Her adoption fee is waived this week!

Adoption Fees Waived until Friday!

Moose has been part of the Sarge’s crew since November 2024 — but most of that time, this lovable 64-pound goof has been hanging out in a foster home, being an all-around very good boy.

He’s 3 years old, knows his basic commands, loves a good car ride, and is always up for a hike or any adventure you throw his way. Moose has that perfect mix of chill at home and zoomie-ready outside.

He’d do great in a home with another playful pup OR as your one-and-only sidekick. Either way, he’s just ready to go home.

He’s been waiting patiently for months — let’s make sure Moose doesn’t spend another season without a family of his own.

A long time ago (okay, like two and a half years ago), in a galaxy not that far away… Anakin was born.

Now he’s landed at Sarge’s Animal Rescue, looking for his forever home—and this time, no sand, no drama, no turning to the Dark Side. Just belly rubs, hikes, and maybe a few snacks (but not too many—he’s 73 lbs and the vet says he needs to ditch his Darth Bloat look).

Anakin is your classic herding breed: smart, playful, and always ready to direct traffic—even if it’s just your other dogs walking through the kitchen. He gets along great with fellow canines, loves to swim like he’s training for Jedi Water Sports, and is working on leash manners (because dragging you like a landspeeder isn’t ideal).

He knows his basic commands and is ready to level up his training. We’re still unsure how he feels about cats… probably depends if they’re part of the Resistance.

Adoption fees are waived this week, July 15-18 and adoptions are by appointment. Make sure to apply for Anakin today!

Don’t let the name fool you—Sassie has exactly zero sass.
She’s more “retired grandma who brings you snacks” than “diva with opinions.”

This 6-year-old Plott hound mix is sweet, chill, and universally beloved by dogs, cats, kids, and basically every living creature she’s ever met. Sassie came to us from Haywood County Animal Shelter after her owner passed away, and she’s been patiently waiting for someone to notice her. Like… seriously. She hasn’t gotten one application. Not one! She’s starting to take it a little personally.

She’s rocking the pirate life with one eye, takes daily meds for some minor mobility issues, and prefers short walks over mountain marathons. Her ideal day? Supervising your kitchen activities, claiming half the couch, and judging your Netflix choices (lovingly). Hiking? No thanks. Snuggling? Absolutely.

Her adoption fee—and all adoption fees—are waived July 15–18.
Adoptions are by appointment, and Sassie would love to finally be picked.
