On Aug. 26 I was able to trap these dear kittens. Since then, they have been cared for and and kept in someone’s bedroom in their house but have not really come around to human interaction. On Wednesday they were neutered, tipped, vaccinated, and treated for fleas at Antietam Humane Society. I want to thank Kathy and Deb for all their help, and especially Kathy’s son and daughter in law who allowed these kittens to have a chance by sharing their home with them. I pondered on letting them out at a barn where they would have been cared for but ultimately decided to let them back out at my house. They hung around the porch for over an hour and then left. Tonight, one little boy is back and I’m hoping the other is nearby. It’s been busy in my neighborhood with Halloween. It takes a village and my heart is happy and I’m praying they will stay. Please spay and neuter. Even if they aren’t “your’s” I’m hoping these two eventually come around and can have a long life.

Italy's aviation authority just made a huge change: **medium and large dogs can now fly with you in the cabin!** Previously, most pets over roughly 8 to 10 kilos had to travel in the cargo hold. New guidelines mean your larger dog can be secured on a seat or placed in an approved carrier right alongside you. This marks a significant step forward for pet welfare and owner choice, as many people avoided flying due to the stress and safety concerns associated with the hold.

This breakthrough aims to make air travel safer and less stressful for dogs and their families. While this is real progress, remember that there are important conditions. **Airlines must opt in** and establish their own procedures. Seats and carriers need to meet safety regulations, and key areas like aisles and emergency exits must remain unobstructed. Specific weight and seating limits will be rolled out by each airline, and on certain routes or aircraft, it might not be possible to accommodate larger pets.
