During our October organized ride we always make a donation to Breast Cancer Awareness. This year we decided to make this donation to one of our own. Marriann "Sweetie" Polman Dom N Sweetie Polman has recently been diagnosed with stage 2 Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Breast Cancer. It has metastasized to 2 lymph nodes. She'll have chemo infusions for six months before she has breast surgery. So needless to say she and Dom were not able to attend as they have for decades in October. They ride the spotted mules Waylon & Willie. And she is the Gourd Lady.
One of our patrons Vikki Beuttel made a beautiful Breast Cancer Awareness quilt and donated it to the cause to be auctioned off. On Friday at our "fun" auction the quilt brought $500. Then horse people being who they are, the money kept coming! Before we knew it $2,656.00 had been donated. π₯Ή
On Sunday beloved friends Debbie Lambert and Sandra Lambert-morales carried the donation to Sweetie (unbeknownst to her). She was so touched by everyone's generosity and outpouring of love. She was overwhelmed.
Sweetie has this message to everyone;
Iβve had 2 infusions so far and have not had any problems with them. Glory be to the Father and to the SON and to the Holy Spirit. Amen
There is a hidden gift in the disease of cancer and itβs up to each individual person to figure out what that is for them. ποΈππͺπΌ
I have very strong faith, courage & strength through all of it. I plan to stay positive and I will make sure that I use all the gifts God is giving me on the journey that Iβm on to be a blessing to everyone.
I got this and JESUS got me.

-Before cancer, I thought I understood life's rhythm, its meaning, its pace. But cancer slowed everything down, stripped away my comfort, my energy, and at times, even my reflection in the mirror.
What I didn't know then was that it was also rebuilding me piece by piece into someone stronger, gentler, and more awake and understanding to what really matters.
I learned that healing isn't just about medicine it's about patience, faith, and the quiet moments when you choose to believe that tomorrow will be better even if today still hurts.
I lost things I thought I couldn't live without. But I found things I never imagined I'd have, courage I didn't know existed, gratitude that runs deep, and love that feels purer than ever.
Cancer changed my body, yes!
But it also opened my soul. It made me realize that beauty isn't in "before or after."
It's in becoming.
And Always Remember, the Golden Counsels are:
- Trauma, Stress, Depression, Tears and Broken Heart Can Cause You Cancer!!
- Remember that No One Deserves your love affection more than you do!
This is my reminder for anyone fighting something unseen:
You are not broken. You're not a lone. You are transforming.
Hold on to HOPE it's more powerful than fear will ever be. ποΈππͺπΌποΈππͺπΌποΈππͺπΌ
