In honor of National Cat Day here are some ways to keep your cat happy and healthy🐱

🐈Have playtime everyday
Cats need play to stay physically active, mentally engaged, and happy. Don't forget cats are apex predators, they need playtime that will engage their hunting instincts.

✨Brush their coat
Daily brushing helps prevent matting, keeps coats shiny, and helps you bond with your cat. Brushing daily also lets you keep an eye out for any skin issues or injuries.

🐱Feed hydrating foods
Cats are prone to dehydration, so moisture rich foods are important to keep them hydrated.

🪥Brush their teeth
Brushing is the best way to keep teeth clean. Considering 70% of cats develop dental disease by age 3, brushing is an important daily routine. Cats may be more tolerant of dental wipes, so give those a try. A treat afterwards also helps.

🧼Wash food and water bowls daily
Food and water bowls can harbor bacteria, which may make cats sick or give them chin acne. Choose easy to clean bowls like stainless steel or ceramic and wash daily to prevent bacteria build up.

🐱Clean the litter box
Cats like to be clean and may avoid using the litterbox if it isn't up to their standards. Cleaning daily also allows you monitor your cat's bathroom habits. Many health problems first show up in the litterbox, so knowing your cat's bathroom habits is important.
