Oke is in need of foster homes. We have some pregnant mommas who need a safe place to have and raise their babies until they're old enough to be adopted. Both cat and dog fosters are needed. If you think you can help please contact us.

We feel we need to clarify a few rumors that have been floating around about the shelter.

1. Yes, we are on an intake freeze due to overcrowding. What this means is that we are not allowed to take any animals in at the moment. As soon as we get the ok from the Department of AG we will let everyone know. This does not mean that we are closed to adoptions or rescues taking animals. We need to get some of our animals out to good homes and trusted rescues so that we can make room for the strays out there who need our help. We refuse to euthanize animals to make space, so adopters and rescues are extremely important.

2. No we are not closing down, we are still very much here doing what needs to be done to help the animals in our care and hopefully others very soon.

3. We have had a few employees leave, BUT our staff is still strong and dedicated. We are not going anywhere. Those of us who have stayed are here to make this shelter everything it should be. Our only concern is for the animals. This shelter has basically been run by 3 employees and we have worked very hard to clean things up and give every animal here the care they need and deserve. We have worked very hard to get the shelter cleaned up and more organized and we're very proud of the progress we've made. We know that there are still things that need to be done, but we are committed to improving the shelter.

False rumors only makes our jobs that much more difficult, so we ask that if you're unsure, please call, we will be more than happy to speak with you. Thank you for all of your continued support.
