UPDATE 6/7/26: It looks like we have secured help for Brownie and Sissy. There are a lot of moving pieces to this puzzle so I will keep you posted.

I am trying to get two dogs from Puerto Rico to North Carolina and I need help!
They are located on the beach at Playa Campamento Erizo (near Laquillo and Rio Grande). San Juan is the closest city.
A friend from the states moved to PR with his dogs but he ended up getting arrested in mid March and won’t be getting out any time soon. He thought someone took his dogs in but I found out 2 days ago that is not the case. They are living on the beach, waiting for him to return 😭.
Brownie, the bigger dog is injured and needs vet care.
I’m looking for anyone with contacts in this part of Puerto Rico that might be willing to help me. My goal is getting them to a vet that will examine, treat and board them until they can be flown from PR to NC. Any and all help is welcome! From boots on the ground in PR willing to transport the dogs to contacts involved with rescue flights off the island.
I am not asking for money, I’m asking you to think about who you know and contacts you might have that could help.
Brownie and Sissy are loved. They don’t understand why they were abandoned. They have a home with me here in NC, I just need help getting them here!
