Later this year we will be moving to Waxahachie. The landlord does not maintain the building and we have had all sorts of problems with the building. Now the A/C is down. I have been robbed three times because the back door was eaten by termites and not secure. It took him YEARS to replace the door. Now the landlord wants to raise the rent. He wants me out so he can turn it into residential. He is very intrusive and continuously violates landlord tenant laws. Time to find a new place.

I have made 500 hang tags and have been gathering donations for an event. I will need volunteers to help price all the items and get the shop ready for opening. The tag says 100% PROCEEDS BENEFIT NEEDY DOGS. I paid nothing for the items. These are donated items. My contribution is my time, the space that costs me about $500 a month and the advertising for the events. That is a substantial contribution out of my pocket. NOT A NON-PROFIT. I have a cash register that can be keyed to identify all the HEARTS & PAWS sales and those funds will be used for events. Funds from the store sales will help pay for the overhead and expenses.

This is the location where I have had my vintage & collectibles store for years. I closed it when I broke my back. My store sales will help to pay the rent, utilities and advertising.

My goal is to be open on Friday and Saturday until we see if there will be any response. One event I would like to host is a chip clinic. This is a large property and we could also host an adoption day and maybe even offering flea dipping. I am physically limited, so I will be depending heavily on volunteers.

The owner of the building is finally replacing the back door that is totally broken and won't close completely. I have been trying to get him to replace the termite eaten door jam for years. I can't reopen without rear access. It is a safety issue. I just hope he uses an exterior door for the back entrance.

I am working with the owner of the building to do some repairs so we can work on making this happen. He is on board with the idea.

Come spring we are going to try once again to make this dream a reality. Donations are easy. Volunteers are the real need.

I have given up on this in BARDWELL due to lack of interest. AN AWESOME OPPORTUNITY FOR THE DOG COMMUNITY MISSED.
