Whether it’s for drop-in visits or overnight stays in your home, we ensure that your pets are happy, safe and well-cared for! We, the happily married team of Mic & Peter, recently moved to Waxahachie after returning to Texas after a few years overseas. Along our married life's journey we have looked after dogs and cats, young and old, plus parrots, finches, canaries, guinea fowl, ferrets, hamsters

, rabbits, lizards, chameleons, saltwater aquariums, donkeys, and monkeys. And we loved them all! So we decided to start our own pet-sitting, dog-walking and house-sitting business! There are a number of VERY IMPORTANT REASONS you should choose us to look after your furry friends:

We are essentially retired now, working together as a team, we have lots of flexibility to devote the time and attention your loved pets deserve - and will take care of your home and property with care and respect. And it's important to note that there are two of us - so we will have at least double the time available for our clients, compared to other sitters. But actually, it is likely even far more than that, as we have no conflicting work commitments and are willing to work 7 days a week, morning to night. AND, because there are two of us, your pets will get double the attention! This makes a world of difference - while one of us is working on the food, the other one can be playing or brushing. ;-)

You will find us super easy to work with, dependable, and trustworthy. With age comes wisdom and also much less partying...! Also, Peter is fluent in German. We provide the FOLLOWING SERVICES for your furry friends:

House Sitting: We stay in your home to look after any member of your furry family while you are out of town. This reduces your pets anxiety to be able to stay comfortably at home. Drop-in visits: We drop by to feed, provide potty breaks and give some loving to your cats, dogs, birds, small mammals, and/or virtually any other pets. Dog Walking: We take your dog for walks around your neighborhood for 30 mins or 60 mins, at the pace they are comfortable with. Echo and Schatzi have been having such a blast out on the lawn lately—chewing on every stick they can find like it’s their favorite new toy! It’s honestly adorable watching them happily break the sticks into little pieces… until I started wondering if it was safe. Turns out, chewing on random sticks can actually be pretty risky for dogs, with potential problems like dental injuries, choking, intestinal blockages, or even poisoning from certain types of wood.

So, I decided to do something about it and got them these “Dogwood Chews from Outward Hound”. They look and feel like real sticks but are made just for dogs to chew safely. As a pet sitter, it’s such a relief to know I’m giving Echo and Schatzi a safer option—and one less thing for me to worry about while they’re in my care. Win-win!

Just a friendly reminder from one dog lover to another—always check if the branches, leaves, or roots in your backyard are safe for dogs, even if they look innocent. You never know which plants might be harmful, and it’s better to be safe than sorry when it comes to our furry friends!”

Here is a little snippet of one of our recent pet-sitting gigs. Peter and I had the pleasure of meeting two of the most discerning personalities—Miss Poppy, an English Bulldog Mix, and Mr. Blu, a French Bulldog. They greeted us with polite curiosity and that classic Bulldog stare that says, “Let’s see if you can meet our standards!”

Bulldogs are known for their big personalities and legendary stubborn streak. Winning their trust is never a given—it takes a patient approach and a creative touch! At Mic’s Pet Sitting, we specialize in reading those little signals, adjusting our routines, and using just the right smidge of humor (and maybe a favorite treat or two) to coax even the most persnickety pups into friendship.

Soon, Blu was showing off bunny-hopping skills with his treasured stuffed toy, and Poppy joined the fun for a tug-of-war—bunny bravely lost an arm in the heat of adorable competition.

We wrapped up our visit with a stroller parade around the neighborhood block, both Bulldogs sitting tall with ears perked, surveying their “kingdom.” Whether your pets are shy, picky, or bursting with attitude, we love what makes them unique—and always tailor our care to win those tough hearts!

Some moments just warm your soul as a pet sitter! Halo, the sweetest Doberman I get to care for, has her own adorable routine. After our potty break, she sits expectantly by the back door, eyes sparkling and tail nub wiggling with excitement—because she knows what’s next: treats!It’s such a joy being trusted to look after this precious girl, and her happy anticipation never fails to make me smile.

Pork Chop, Sammy Sammich, and Wylie in the latest farmyard scandal—a squeaky latex pig that just won’t quit oinking! 🐖🎭 The reactions? Pure gold. Wylie retreats behind the couch like it’s an alien invasion. Sammy storms out the door in disgust but can’t resist a second curious peek. And Pork Chop? Well, I think he took serious offense—someone call the piggy diplomat! Guess these pups just aren’t having any of my piggy grunts. 🐶🙉 ”

I used to dream about raising my own chickens—imagining fresh “chicken butt nuggets” every morning. Two years and a mountain of research later (and to my husband’s delight!), REALITY HIT: 🥚💸 Backyard chicken butt nuggets are the most EXTRA thing in your fridge! ! 🏡Start with a $2K coop, each chicken $10, add $30 every month for feed, and don’t forget $50+ for those inevitable sneezing-chicken vet visits! 🍳By the time you’re enjoying a single yolk, you’ve basically paid gourmet brunch prices for life! SO WHAT DO I DO NOW? I get my feathered fix by pet sitting — no bills, all the cuteness, and as a bonus, the best-tasting eggs EVER! 😂🐔Thank you to my wonderful client who let me have my fix🐤🐔🍳🥚

Winged distraction at the worst possible moment.” 🐿️Act 2: Squirrel’s comeback: “You’ll need more than wishes and whiskers to catch me!” 🐿️Act 3 (sequel): Squirrel’s encore—complete with a little dance—“Nice try, Ellie. Maybe next season!” Ellie’s Never-Ending Quest!Squirrels are highly aware of their surroundings and can selectively focus their attention, sometimes even playing or teasing cats without fear. Poor Ellie doesn’t stand a chance with this Sploot - their friendship is so sweet to see.
