🐾🏃‍♀️ WE DID IT — PAWS ON THE PAVEMENT 5K 2026! 🏃‍♂️🐾

This morning, after six months (or honestly… probably longer 😂) of planning, organizing, stressing, fundraising, and dreaming, our very first Paws on the Pavement 5K became a reality.

And we are sitting here absolutely OVERWHELMED WITH PRIDE. 🥹❤️

✨ 35 runners
🐕 14 dogs
🐾 409.45 POUNDS OF PET FOOD DONATED
💰 $1,027 RAISED FOR PAWS & WELLNESS PROJECT

$1,027. 💚

Every dollar raised and every pound of food donated will help us continue our mission of supporting pets and families in our community.

But here's the part that makes our hearts REALLY happy…

🐾 Our Paws on the Pavement adoptable pup, Lola, already has THREE applications pending! 🥹🐶❤️

What started as a fundraiser turned into a day of community, compassion, and hopefully a whole new beginning for Lola.

And that's exactly why we do what we do.

Paws & Wellness Project was only powered up 8 months ago. Eight months ago, this was a grassroots idea fueled by a whole lot of heart and a desire to make a difference.

Today, we're looking back at how far we've come and honestly… the growth has been mind-blowing.

We've built community partnerships.
We've established pet food support.
We've helped families keep their pets fed.
We've supported animals in need.
We've created opportunities for our community to come together.

And now we've officially held our FIRST 5K. 🏃‍♀️🐾

None of this would have been possible without the incredible people who continue to believe in what we're building.

And hopefully… one very happy Lola on her way to a forever home. 🐶❤️

Two Organizations. Similar Names. Two Different Missions. One Shared Love for Animals.

We’ve noticed that there can sometimes be a little confusion between Paws Jackson and Paws & Wellness Project, so we thought we’d take a moment to introduce both organizations and explain what we do!

🐾 PAWS Jackson – Protecting Animal Welfare Society

PAWS Jackson is a local animal welfare organization that helps animals who are in need of rescue and a second chance. Their work includes caring for animals, providing veterinary care, helping with spay/neuter and other medical needs, and working to find animals loving forever homes. 🏡❤️

🐾 Paws & Wellness Project

Our mission is a little different.

We work to help keep pets with the families who already love them.❤️

Through our Community Pet Food Support Bins, direct pet-food assistance, personal outreach, emergency support, community partnerships and future programs, we work with families who are experiencing financial hardship so that they can continue providing food and care for their pets.

Our hope is simple: a temporary financial hardship shouldn't have to mean losing a beloved family pet.

And that brings us to today! 🥹🐱

This morning, while making our regular deliveries in Jacksonville, we had the privilege of picking up a large donation of cat food from PAWS.

That donation will now help us continue getting food into the hands of local families who are struggling to keep their cats fed.

And THIS is exactly why community partnerships matter. ❤️

PAWS Jackson helps animals who need rescue and a new beginning.

Paws & Wellness Project helps families who need a little support to keep their pets at home.

Different missions. Different approaches. But the same goal: making life better for animals in our community.🐾❤️

We are incredibly grateful to PAWS Jackson for thinking of Paws & Wellness Project and for helping us keep our shelves stocked so we can continue helping families when they need it most.

So if you’ve ever wondered, “Wait… are PAWS Jackson and Paws & Wellness Project the same organization?”

Nope! 😆

We are two separate nonprofit organizations doing two different kinds of work — and we're incredibly grateful when we get the opportunity to work together.

Because at the end of the day, we all want the same thing: happy, healthy, loved animals.🐶🐱❤️

🐾❤️ WELCOME TO A HEALTHIER PATH OF LIFE, LITTLE GUY! ❤️🐾

Meet this sweet little black-and-white boy. 🖤🤍

He is ONLY 4 months old and until Sunday, he had never been around a human. He was scared, unsure, and living a life that no kitten should have to know.

Then came the trap… and just 12 hours later, this little guy is laying on his back in my arms like a baby. 🥹😭❤️

That trust. That tiny moment of realizing that human hands can be gentle, warm, and safe. THIS is why we do what we do. 🐾

He and his mama will both be vetted this Thursday, and we're so excited to get them started on their journey toward a healthier, safer life. 🩺❤️

Little buddy, you don't know it yet, but your life is changing. You are safe. You are loved. And you are officially on a healthier path of life. 🐾🏡
