Fun Facts about Rough Collies (like Rue and Lassie):

They were originally bred in the rugged Scottish Highlands as hard-working farm and sheep-herding dogs. They are highly social, devoted to their family. They’re sensitive dogs that seem to have a special understanding of their humans’ feelings. They love and need to be with their family. With their responsiveness, grace, and intelligence, collies do very well at dog sports like herding, agility, and obedience. And, with their love of attention, they shine in the spotlight. Queen Victoria fell in love with the breed during an 1860 visit to Scotland and kept several at Balmoral Castle, instantly making them fashionable among the elite. Their iconic voluminous "rough" coat features a harsh, straight outer layer and a soft, dense undercoat designed to repel harsh weather. They are also known to be "talkative", using different pitches of barks and soft vocalizations to express themselves.

I think if I was turned into a dog, I would be a rough collie! I'm sensitive, talkative, and a little clingy. 😉
