With the closure of Two Paws Up and the end of Stephanie and Becca’s partnership, we know this has created a lot of uncertainty and naturally raised a lot of questions.

Over the next few weeks, you will begin to see our website and social media transition into two separate business ventures as we each move into this next chapter:

Starting June 1st, Stephanie will be offering Nose Work classes, seminars, and Behavioral Support through Stephanie's Sniffers at the current Waukegan location.

Becca will be announcing our new team name in the coming weeks, and we are excited to begin offering services again this summer. More information will be shared as soon as details are finalized.

Thank you for your patience, support, and encouragement as we move forward. We are excited for what is ahead and look forward to sharing more with you soon.

Important update from Two Paws Up 🤍

After a lot of thought, Stephanie and Becca have decided to end their partnership as owners of Two Paws Up. As a result of this, Two Paws Up will be closing its doors at the end of May 2026.

We want to be clear that this is simply a business decision, and there is no animosity behind it. We are working together through this transition with the shared goal of supporting our clients, dogs, and team as best we can.

As we move forward, we each have plans of our own that will hopefully give everyone enough options and continued support. Our main priority is that the transition is as smooth as possible, but we will keep you updated of what that future will look like.

🐣 Easter fun with a training twist!

Recall works best when dogs are taught that coming to you is exciting, rewarding, and always a good idea. If we want dogs to come when called, we have to make it positive enough that they truly want to choose it.

That is why we use games so often at Two Paws Up to reinforce recall and make learning fun. During camp, our pups practiced with Easter races past distractions, building their skills in a way that was engaging, upbeat, and rewarding. 🐾

Here’s Willow working on her mat skills while Miss Marcy showed off her advanced mat discrimination work like a pro! 🐾✨

Marcy did an awesome job helping Willow by being a calm, gentle distraction while Willow practiced focus, understanding, and making good choices on her mat. 💛

We love using thoughtful setups like this to help dogs build real-life skills in a positive, supportive way.

Mat work is so much more than teaching a dog to lay on a bed. 🐾

It helps build calmness, focus, and the ability to make good choices even when distractions are around. We teach it in steps — starting with shaping the mat, adding an auto sit or down, then building up to duration and working through distractions like toys, movement, and other dogs.

This video shows little Pico the Lab puppy progressing through mat work from the start of the day, to midday, to practicing with distractions. 💛

He’s just one example, and we’ll be checking back in to show how the rest of our campers are progressing too!
