What’s more important: winning on a made horse, or doing the long, character-building grind from green bean to broke?

Let’s be honest, riding a made horse feels like driving a sports car with cruise control. Training one from scratch? That’s more like pushing a shopping cart with a wobbly wheel… uphill… in the rain… with a pigeon screaming at you. 🤣

But here’s the deal: neither is wrong. Winning on a made horse teaches feel, timing, and confidence. Starting from scratch teaches humility, patience, and how to cry in a round pen without anyone noticing.

If the training is fair and the horse is improving, you’re on the right track, whether you’re polishing a finished ride or picking dirt out of your eyebrows after a surprise dismount.
