Labor Day weekend brought BryCo Cattle two little heifers, one black angus, and this cutie, This cutie has the black nose and inside ears for that special Charlois look. I named the black calf Corny because of corn harvest.

Praying everyone's week went well.
This week I witnessed something I have never seen in the years I have been raising cattle and even when my dad raised cattle. We lost a newborn bull due to being too large for heifer to birth. Calf weighed close to 100 lbs. When I was taking care of calf , Clyde (daddy) came over smelled calf and just went to bawling, he did this for 5 minutes which all cows came running. He stood close to calf but let the cows smell. He then just lowered his head and looked at calf. I know I saw tears in his eyes. I spoke to Clyde in a low tone and he just looked at me with sadness. Clyde continued to watch as I prepared the calf for burial.
But today we had the end of a sad week with the birth of a healthy little bull. Just the right size.
Oh the sadness and happiness of ranching. I know God had plans for me to raise cattle after I retired.
