Available grooming services include bathing, blow drying, nail trimming/dremmeling, hair clipping/scissoring/deshedding, teeth cleaning, ear cleaning and external a**l gland excretion. Our daycare facility is indoor/outdoor with 2 sections in each. Karol received her training and was certified at American Academy of Pet Grooming in New York City July 2014. Andreana "Ande" is our newest groomer. Sh

e has been employed in multiple positions caring for dogs since graduating High School! She recently moved to Watertown, NY from Western, NY. She has had multiple roles from being a daycare attendant, dog trainer and dog groomer. Alyssa, manager, has been working with Karol since 2016. She also helps with grooming, assisting, dog daycare and secretarial duties. Our dog daycare provider is Katarina (Kat) who has over 3 years experience in this position. We care for the dogs as if they were our own. We all love what we do! We believe it shows through how excited the dogs are to always come back :)

Ft. Benny boy 🖤 This sweet boy moved to Tennessee with his family over the weekend. He came in for one last groom the day before they left 🥺Hope to see him again one day! (Only 6 months old in the last photo).

🐶 Join the ACBS Family 🐱

Over the last year, several of our fosters and volunteers have decided to take a break, moved or focused their attention elsewhere. This unfortunately has left ACBS down to a small number of dedicated foster/volunteers to help a cause that seems to be growing larger each day.

➡️We are in dire need of fosters for both dogs and cats. This includes bottle feeders, large and small breed dog and puppy fosters, and kitten and adult cat fosters. Fostering is an amazing way to give back even if you Foster once or twice this changes the life of that animal.

Fosters are required to live within a one hour radius of Adams, NY which is where all of their vetting will take place.

➡️ Volunteers are also critical to ACBS to assist with fundraising, event planning, transporting etc.

🏡 Give Shelter Dogs the Gift of More Time Outside! 🐶🌿

We’re hoping to add two large outdoor steel dog kennels (at-least 118"x118") to our grounds—just one or two generous donors could make it happen!! These enclosures would allow our dogs to enjoy more outdoor potty breaks, peaceful decompression away from the noise, and long, sunshine-filled moments of relaxation. ☀️

They’re perfect for:
• 🚶‍♀️ A calm, grassy retreat away from the busy dog wing
• 🐾 Quick solo potty trips when the main yard’s full of meet and greets
• 🧸 A safe confidence-building space for dogs learning to go potty on grass

Doggy daycare services include group/solo play inside and outside. We also administer medications as advised by veterinarian and owners direction.

Karol (owner/dog groomer) received her hands on training and was certified at American Academy of Pet Grooming in New York City July 2014.

Theresa (dog groomer) was certified at Penn. Foster Career Institute in 2008 and received her hands on training at Canine Clip in VT.
