Otter hounds are one of the rarest breeds. They are exceptionally smart and absolutely adorable. When I was in grooming school dare I say 1997 in Oregon I groomed quite a few.

With fewer than 800 Otterhounds remaining worldwide, this breed is rarer than the Giant Panda. In the small town of Deer Island, Oregon, Good Dog breeder Diana is working to change that.

She raises each litter at home with the goal of ensuring Otterhounds continue for generations to come. By carefully diversifying the genetic foundation, Diana is improving the breed’s health and longevity while preserving what makes these dogs so special.

I so wish we could work with prisons in our area. Animals make a huge difference in our lives. They could make such a difference and for some of the inmates is their only chance to experience unconditional love. GOD is DOG spelled backwards and both change our lives forever.
