15 yr old, 13’2 pinto pony.
Sterling is UTD on vet, dental and farrier. He is barefoot and has never taken an off step the whole year he’s been on my farm. Very easier keeper. Goes out with a small group of geldings that he gets along with everyone, but has one friend he enjoys playing rough with .
Sterling will stand all day quietly in the crossties to be groomed, leads quietly.
He’s a forward moving pony at the trot and canter and responsive to his riders queues.
That being said i personally will not advertise him as beginner safe. He has never offered to buck or rear, but he will lack confidence with a rider who has an unbalanced seat and will spook. all though not a bad spook he is not the horse the family needs at this time for their young daughter to learn on as she’s now become more on the defensive side as a rider waiting for a spook which in turn has made him more uneasy himself.
The family has chosen to do what’s right for both Sterling and their daughter by offering him.
Not much is known about his past. Previous seller stated he trail rides(owners have not tried) trailers nicely (he arrived and unloaded like a gentleman last year) rides English and western … they were told he has a neck rein… he in fact does not, but doesn’t care if he’s in a English or western saddle.
I have current lunging videos to interested people that shows his movement, owners do have the video that they purchased him from to show his abilities under saddle a more current riding video will be made in the near future.
He is located in Watertown NY. Family is asking in the mid $range , but the right match is what truly matters.
