PLEASE READ: HEAT ADVISORY THROUGH THE WEEKEND: Things to know about the Clinic:
This is an outdoor, drive-thru-style event. Please arrive in a vehicle with working A/C to keep your pet (and yourself!) safe from heat-related injury.
We plan to give out several hundred vaccinations this year! :) Getting that done takes time and the wait times may be long. Make sure you have enough gas in your vehicle to keep it running with the A/C on while you wait.
We will have plenty of extra dog bowls to help give out water. However, it is very helpful if you bring your own cool water bottle to fill the bowls- as we will be able to bring a limited amount (and if it sits in the sun it will get warm ---yuck) and we prefer dogs don't share bowls! If you are attending the event and feel your pet needs water- flag down one of the volunteers and let them know. Once your pet is all set you can set the bowl outside your vehicle out of the line of traffic (by the cones) for us to retrieve as part of cleanup.
Our goal with this event is to provide free preventative healthcare to those who need it- in the form of a rabies vaccination. What we DON'T want is to negate that good work with health dangers like heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Please be mindful of the heat and take the above steps to keep you and your pet safe while attending.
