JFP Equine specializes in bringing the majestic Clydesdale breed to life for a variety of audiences. JFP Equine, Inc.

is owned and operated by Jim Poole, a career draft horse expert and former 25-year manager of the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales. Draft horses have been a part of Poole's blood from the moment he was born in Manitoba, Canada. After decades of showing championship Clydesdales, Belgians & Percherons around the continent, Poole was recruited to St. Louis, MO to help run one of the most well-known

corporate icons on the planet, the Budweiser Clydesdales. For 25 years, he spearheaded Budweiser Clydesdale growth to over 300 head and six, eight-horse hitches that traveled the continent and took part in just about every local, national and global media outlet imaginable. Poole has owned and operated JFP Equine since 2011, supplying and consulting with clients throughout North America that want to enter or get more involved in the Clydesdale industry. Tucked along the outskirts of Waterloo, IL just outside St. Louis, MO, JFP Equine's headquarters is a working Clydesdale farm typically home to anywhere from 10-12 head.

MEET DEXTER: THE NEWEST CLYDESDALE AT JFP EQUINE

There’s a new hoofbeat echoing through the barn—and it belongs to Dexter, our newest Clydesdale gelding here at JFP Equine in Waterloo, IL.

With his rich bay coat, four white stockings, bold white blaze, and classic black mane and tail, Dexter is the very definition of a prototypical Clydesdale. He’s tall (already 18.1 hands high), handsome, and has just the right mix of presence and personality. And here’s the kicker—he just turned 3.

BUILT LIKE A CHAMPION, SWEET AS A PUPPY

Dexter isn’t just good looks—he’s also broke to drive and ready to perform. But he also has a naturally calm, steady demeanor that makes him easy to work with and fun to be around. Whether he’s being harnessed, brushed, or just hanging out in the pasture, he’s a total professional (with just enough personality to keep things interesting).

Ever wonder what it’s like to hang out with a real Clydesdale? 🐴

For years, people asked … and we decided to deliver! In early 2023, we officially launched a series of one-of-a-kind experiences where YOU can meet, greet, learn and even get up close and personal alongside our incredible Clydesdales — from our Backstage 'Meet N' Greet' to our Ultimate Clydesdale Experience.

But JFP Equine isn’t some massive show barn with dozens of horses on hundreds of acres — and we’re kinda proud of that. Typically with just 5–10 gentle giants at a time, we focus on quality over quantity and keep our visitor groups small so every moment is personal, peaceful, and unforgettable. 💚

Spots are limited but the memories, well, they're unforgettable!
