Tuesday Tip:
How to Handle a Loose or Stray Dog
If you encounter a loose dog in your neighborhood, please contact animal control and the police's non-emergency number for the town where you spotted the dog.
It’s possible that the dog belongs to someone.
Authorities can check for reports of missing pets in the area.
If the dog is indeed stray or roaming, animal control will take appropriate action to ensure its safety. They may reach out to our group for assistance, as we have established strong relationships with many local animal control officers in Connecticut. We are always eager to help when we can.
Please note that it is against the law for us to capture a stray dog on our own. We urge you to reach out to animal control or the police if you see a roaming dog. Thank you for your cooperation!
