Hi everyone!
I know I’ve been a little bit quiet lately—I’ve been quite overwhelmed to say the least.

Construction is moving along, after some hiccups, we have our drywall all repaired, all of the painting is complete, and we’re working towards completion!! (More to come on our drywall woes pending legal advice)

Unfortunately, completing construction includes some noisy days as we have epoxy flooring going in. As a result, we have decided to close Thursday September 17 and Friday September 18. Miranda has been working on getting everyone rescheduled but please plan accordingly for medication refills and pick up.

In the meantime, please know we appreciate you all and are so privileged to have such awesome clients and patients!

This little orange cutie here is Harold. 🐱Harold wants you to know that was his x-ray and that he ate styrofoam. After monitoring for around a week, that styrofoam in his stomach wasn’t moving. So off to surgery he went—I found several pieces of styrofoam in his small intestine as well, but, fortunately, I was able to push those along to his colon. There was so much styrofoam in his little kitty stomach though—it just kept coming! 🙀

Harold says he’d do it again. Zero regrets. 😝

Did you know that eating non-food items (pica) can be a sign of underlying disease in dogs and cats? In Harold’s case, we actually think he has underlying GI disease—we’re all hoping managing that will stop him from tearing into everything at home (which he’s still doing). 😬

While you’re pondering that, I wanted to let everyone know we will be closing early this Friday, July 24! We will likely be closing around 1:30-2pm due to staffing and my own childcare hiccups.

So sorry for the late notice, everything seems so chaotic lately! 😵‍💫

Did you know?! To celebrate a successful first year, Susitna Animal Urgent Care is hosting a dog walk this Saturday, July 11, from 11am to 3pm!

Big thanks to her owner for letting me try out my new ultrasound on Tikka and check out the littles!! 🐶
