Our doctors and staff love, use and recommend goat coats from GoatCoatShop.com to keep our goats warm during winter. They make affordable, high quality custom goat coats.
These windproof insulated coats are wonderful to help keep goats and other animals warm in winter. Coats can be doubled up to provide extra warmth or add a fleece coat under their coat to increase insulation properties.
Does your goat have a goatcoatshop.com coat? We would love to see!

Ashfall & your animals

Updates on Mt Spurr volcano : https://avo.alaska.edu/

Volcanic ash is VERY abrasive. Protect eyes and mouth for all people and critters.

While ash is falling: Keep animals in an enclosed area, cover exposed feed and water. Protect normal feeding surfaces from ash. Consider if a fly mask may work for your animals.

Afterwards: DO NOT FEED ON ASH, or allow ash to be consumed or inhaled. Do not allow access to contaminated water.

Dr Snyder of Polar Eyes Veterinary Ophthalmology has excellent information on protecting your pets eyes after eruption:
