VetPets of SWPA Therapy Dog Prep Class Facility Test day: At VetPets we don't stop at a simulated test, yes we do one for a pre-test BUT the offical certification follows graduation with part 2 of the testing in a real facility brand new to the dogs being tested to show they can demonstrate the same level of training & confidence in a strange environment, as they do in our training center.
Thank you to all the extra help there to make the testing run smooth.. Omar Brooks, our Executive Director& SD Glory, Lynn Migyanko, our Vice President & Corie Duff, extern student for ABC with our own P***y Brewster pup & to our local facility, Presbyterian Homes for allowing us to host testing there.

Public work day for the VetPets of SWPA pups & dogs. Why sit around the office when you can go work some dogs 😊 Wal-Mart for Armani, then all the dogs & all of us did Michael's & Pet Supplies Plus.
If you stop at the center & we arent there, just know we trainers get bored & this is how we handle it 🤣

Give a big ole paws up of congratulations to the 4 newest members of the VetPets of SWPA Therapy Dog Team!!
Team Maizy, Team Joey, Team Echo & our famous Team Savior (UPMC Washingtons Facility Therapy Dog) are all now offically certified Therapy Dogs!!
Team Echo received his AKC Canine Good Citizen (retest from last week) & Teams Joey & Savior received their Canine Good Citizen Advanced & Urban Titles this evening 😁

I had my mentor student play the greeter since she was new to them & she also took some AWESOME candid photos with her camera. Love having helpers, makes these nights flow so much easier. Thank you to our wonderful Vice President & my fellow trainer Lynn Migyanko & my mentor student, Corie Duff for making the night flow properly ❤️

Team Maizy, Team Echo, Team Joey, & Team Savior completed their Therapy Dog Prep Course this past Wednesday.
Joey & Savior earned their AKC Canine Good Citizen, Maizy already has all the levels & Echo was feeling some sorta way that night(it happens sometimes, they are dogs not robots), so he will try it again next Wednesday during our final testing for Therapy Dog.

Here, a Veteran and First Responder is learning how his dog may be able to assist him off the floor when or if he falls.

These pups have worked hard from puppyhood up, check out some of their Therapy Dog Prep Simulations from weeks 6 & 7 of class.
They graduate this week with their preliminary & mock therapy test, along with AKC Canine Good Citizen. Then their final testing will be held the following Wednesday in a real facility, along with the Advanced and Urban Canine testing levels of AKC's Canine Good Citizen program.

Atlas is a 6 month old Therapy Dog In Training. Today he went on a trip out and about to Hobby Lobby where he discovered mirrors. He stopped at every one of them and watched himself quietly 🥰
