A Message to Our Clients & Community ๐พ
At Steel Veterinary Services, our team comes to work each day with one goal: to provide compassionate, professional care to our patients and respectful service to the people who love them.
We understand that veterinary visits can sometimes be stressful, emotional, or frustrating. We also understand that wait times can occasionally occur when our doctors and medical team are caring for another patient who requires additional attention.
What we cannot accept is abusive, threatening, or intimidating behavior toward our staff.
Effective immediately, Steel Veterinary Services will maintain a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, intimidation, threats, aggressive behavior, or verbal abuse directed toward any member of our team. This includes, but is not limited to:
Yelling, screaming at, insulting, or degrading employees
Throwing money, paperwork, objects, or other items at staff
Threatening or intimidating employees.
Aggressive or disruptive behavior within the hospital
Threatening online retaliation, social-media attacks, or public โbashingโ as a means of intimidating staff, coercing an outcome, avoiding legitimate charges, or retaliating against an employee for enforcing hospital policies.
We absolutely respect every client's right to express an honest opinion or raise a legitimate concern about their experience. What we will not accept is the use of threats of online retaliation as a weapon against employees who are simply performing their jobs or enforcing established hospital policies.
Clients who engage in abusive, threatening, intimidating, or seriously disruptive behavior may have their veterinary-client-patient relationship terminated in accordance with applicable professional and legal requirements and may be asked to leave the premises.
If behavior becomes threatening, intimidating, or creates a safety concern for our staff, clients, or patients, law enforcement may be contacted.
Our employees deserve to come to work without being screamed at, threatened, intimidated, humiliated, or subjected to abusive behavior. Protecting our team is part of maintaining a safe environment in which they can focus on what matters most โ caring for our patients.
We will always welcome respectful questions, concerns, and conversations. We are happy to discuss a bill, explain a policy, address a concern, or work through a disagreement professionally.
Disagreement is acceptable. Honest feedback is acceptable. Abuse, intimidation, and threats are not.
This expectation also applies to our social media pages. Abusive, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or personally attacking comments directed toward our doctors, staff, clients, or practice will not be tolerated. This includes comments from individuals who are not clients of Steel Veterinary Services and who have no firsthand experience with our practice. Such comments may be removed, and individuals who engage in harassment or abusive behavior may be blocked from our social media platforms.
We sincerely appreciate the overwhelming majority of our clients who treat our doctors and staff with kindness and respect. We are grateful for the trust you place in us and for allowing us to care for your animals.
Respect goes both ways โ and at Steel Veterinary Services, it is required.
Comments on this post have been closed to prevent unrelated discussions, personal attacks, and commentary that does not pertain to the purpose of this post. This decision was also made to protect our clients from being targeted, confronted, or attacked by individuals who are not clients of our practice and have no firsthand involvement in their care or experiences with our hospital. Legitimate concerns regarding your petโs care are always welcome and may be addressed directly with our practice. Our goal is to maintain a respectful and safe environment for our clients, staff, and communityโboth inside our hospital and on our social media platforms.
