Today, we celebrate someone very special — not only the heart behind Steel Veterinary Services, but also an incredible husband, father, veterinarian, and friend. ❤️

Dr. Bob is a man with a heart as big as his love for animals. 🐶🐱

For him, veterinary medicine has never been just a profession. It is a lifelong passion, a calling, and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of animals and the families who love them.

His dedication goes far beyond the examination room. Whether he's caring for a sick patient, comforting a worried pet owner, or going the extra mile to help an animal in need, Dr. Bob puts his heart into everything he does.

Behind the white coat is also a wonderful husband, a loving and devoted father, and a man whose family means the world to him. ❤️

Those who know him understand that he isn't someone who looks for recognition or praise. He simply does what he believes is right, especially when it comes to the animals who depend on him.

His compassion, knowledge, dedication, and love for veterinary medicine are what make him the extraordinary veterinarian he is today.

Today, we're shining the spotlight on one of our wonderful Veterinary Assistants, Kenzi! 🐶🐱❤️

One of the questions we hear quite often is, “Is Kenzi still in high school?” 😂

Well, don't let her youthful appearance fool you! Behind that sweet smile is a hardworking, knowledgeable, and dedicated young lady who knows her job and is always ready to lend a helping hand!

From the moment Kenzi joined our Steel Veterinary Services family, she impressed us with how quickly she learned, adapted, and took on new responsibilities. Her willingness to learn, positive attitude, and genuine love for animals have made her a valuable member of our team.

Kenzi has grown tremendously in her role as a Veterinary Assistant, and it has been wonderful watching her develop her skills and confidence. Whether she's helping our veterinarians, assisting with patients, or supporting her coworkers during a busy day, Kenzi is always willing to step up when needed.

At Steel Vet, we believe that experience comes with time, but dedication, compassion, and a strong work ethic are qualities that truly make someone special. Kenzi has all three! ❤️

Everyone, meet Mavis! 🐶💗

This adorable 11-week-old Goldendoodle stopped by Steel Veterinary Services for her veterinary visit with Dr. Mihalovich, and we just couldn't resist sharing her cuteness! 🥰

At just 16 pounds, Mavis is already stealing hearts with those fluffy curls and sweet puppy eyes! ❤️

🐾 Favorite Treats: Pig ears, liver & chicken treats!

🎾 Favorite Toy: Balls, balls, and more balls!

We absolutely love watching our little patients grow, and we can't wait to see how big this beautiful girl gets!

🩸 Why Does Pre-Anesthetic Bloodwork Make a Difference?
Your pet may look perfectly healthy on the outside—but bloodwork can sometimes tell us a different story.
Before anesthesia, pre-anesthetic bloodwork gives our veterinary team important information about your pet’s health and helps us make informed decisions when planning their procedure.

❤️ What are we looking for?
🐾 Liver and kidney function — These organs play important roles in processing and eliminating anesthetic medications.
🐾 Red and white blood cells & platelets — A CBC can help identify concerns such as anemia, inflammation/infection, or platelet abnormalities.
🐾 Blood glucose, proteins & electrolytes — Abnormalities may affect how we approach anesthesia, fluids, medications, or recovery.
🐾 Problems that aren't obvious during an exam — Pets can appear completely normal while bloodwork reveals something that deserves attention before an elective procedure.

Most importantly, bloodwork helps your veterinarian develop an anesthetic plan tailored to the individual patient. If something unexpected is found, the doctor can determine whether the plan should be modified, additional testing is appropriate, or the procedure should be postponed.
