Two year old bother Luca (orange/white) and sister Luna (tabby) are looking for a loving home together. Luna is more outgoing than her brother; she is comfortable with being picked up. Luca takes a little longer to warmup but when he does, he's as sweet as his sister. They both love to play! And they are good with other cats.

Oscar the Coonhound is well-loved at Angel Ridge, but he sure would like a home of his own. He will be having surgery on his leg soon at Ohio State, and he’s still living in a kennel.

Oscar is 6-7 years old, approximately 80 lbs, and a strong hound. His friend Judy also thinks he’s the best snuggler. ❤️🐾

Easy, free fun for the pets! With storms approaching, some of our dogs volunteered to demonstrate some fun, easy, indoor activities to calm and enjoy! First, Socks who is a solid, calm, gentle dog, enjoyed foraging for treats amongst toys and also in a tower of boxes. At the end, you will see one-year-old, 41-lb Bob who is a shy, sensitive boy. The tower of boxes might have been too scary, so we wrapped some tiny treats in a towel he had to unroll. He really seemed to enjoy this, and it took his mind off the approaching bad weather. Try these at home and let us know what you think! And let us know if you’d like to meet Socks (5 years old and 77 lbs) or Bob! You can drop in Saturday or Sunday 12-3 (please arrive by 2:30) or by appointment during the week at Angel Ridge in Washington, PA! ❤️🐾

Sweet Creed is a male tabby, 16 weeks old, very rambunctious, and always ready to play. Once he gets his energy out, he turns into a cuddle bug. Creed will follow you anywhere, especially when it’s time to eat. He gets along with other cats. The minute you pick up Creed, he starts to purr. He loves people! Creed is in foster waiting for his loving forever home.

Meet our newbie Sherbert. You will fall in love with this orange hunk of handsome (all the volunteers have!) He is a 6-8 year old affectionate, social, friendly, and lovebug of a cat.

He is FIV+ but don’t stop reading about this incredible boy! Sherbert gets along well with other cats.

FIV+ cats can live long, happy, and healthy Iives among non-FIV cats, often with the same life expectancy as non-infected cats. FIV+ cats do not require medication and FIV is not transferable to humans or other species of pets.

The sad truth is, FIV+ cats are often overlooked at shelters, but they make some of the best loving and devoted companions.

Please share Sherbert's post or better still, come meet him (you'll fall in love too ❤️).

Sherbert is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and FIV+ and FELV negative. Indoor only and no declawing.

Animal advocate Kennedy (pictured with her mom and dad) took on a meaningful school project that raised $250 for the dogs at Angel Ridge. With that, the family worked on purchasing many copies of the booklet Love Has No Age Limit, written by Patricia McConnell and Karen London to help welcome and transition a rescue into one's home. These will be valuable additions to the goody bags that go home with each adopted dog. Kennedy can't wait to continue her good works--and we look forward to the day she can volunteer to walk dogs! Thank you, Kennedy and family for helping us in such a special way! ❤️

Founded in 1999 by Dan and Nancy Shannon, Angel Ridge Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) no-kill shelter and sanctuary for dogs and cats, located on 50 acre Angel Ridge farm in Washington, Pennsylvania. Angel Ridge Animal Rescue is funded entirely by private contributions and fund raising programs conducted by the volunteers.

Our mission is to provide a permanent home and care for animals in need, focusing on those:

• Dogs that are adoptable, but in danger of being euthanized in another shelter.

• Dogs and cats that are elderly or “special needs” but are otherwise adoptable.
