🐾 Help Wanted: Veterinary Receptionist / Client Care Representative 🐮
Location: Washington Veterinary Clinic – Washington, Kansas
Job Type: Part-Time
Are you passionate about animals — from family pets to farm herds? Washington Veterinary Clinic in Washington, Kansas is looking for a friendly, professional, and detail-oriented Veterinary Receptionist / Client Care Representative to join our team. We proudly serve a wide range of animals, including small animals, large animals, and small ruminants.
This is a front desk role with heart — connecting clients to the care they need and helping the clinic run smoothly for animals of all sizes.
Typical Hours:
🕒 Monday – Friday: Afternoons
🕖 Every Other Saturday: 7:45 AM – 12:00 PM
Some flexibility may be required depending on clinic needs.
Key Responsibilities:
📞 Answer multi-line phone system professionally, assisting both small and large animal clients
🐾 Provide basic information on pet and livestock care, routine procedures, and services
🔄 Route calls to the appropriate staff, pull medical records, and ensure clear communication
👋 Welcome and assist clients — whether they bring in pets or livestock-related questions
📅 Confirm appointments, surgeries, and farm calls using our clinic communication tools
📝 Document all client conversations accurately in medical records, and relay details to tech or doctors
💳 Process payments, apply discounts or rebates, and explain Invoices clearly
💊 Fill prescription refills and give clients standard usage instructions
📢 Educate clients on promotions, parasite prevention, nutritional products, and more
🧼 Help maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary clinic environment
🐕 Assist with pet boarding/grooming check-ins and check-outs in the PULSE system
🐄 Support scheduling and coordination of large animal farm visits, including beef cattle and small ruminants by involving correct staff
Ideal Candidate:
Strong communicator with excellent customer service skills
Comfortable interacting with both pet owners and livestock producers
Able to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with veterinary terminology and services (helpful but not required)
Organized, dependable, and compassionate
Comfortable with computers; PULSE experience is a plus
