A friend is looking to rehome his precious Old English Sheepdog! My goodness, look how adorable he is! He’s a bit naked now, but thankfully if you’re following this page, you know a groomer who knows some awesome groomers in the area if he happens to be a bit out of my weight range. This is his post-

**1 year old Old English Sheepdog. Looking for a forever home. Located in Peoria IL.

Ragnar is a very sweet, energetic boy. He loves to play and is full of love! He is good with other dogs, but hasn’t been around cats. Loves people but has little exposure to kids under 9. This was a tough decision to make, but with our busy schedule we believe he deserves a home that will fulfill all of his needs.
On a side note, I gave him a bath a couple weeks ago and tried and failed to dry and brush his fur properly. When I took him to get groomed the other day, he had a lot of knots and they recommended we shave his fur, hence the short hair in some of these pics (thats how he currently looks). It’ll grow back! Till then he looks like… not an old English sheep dog haha still very cute and energetic

If you don’t think he’s a good match for you, but maybe someone else, please just send me a pm! I don’t normally share these types of posts, but I came very very close to bringing this baby home. It just wasn’t the right time, for several reasons, unfortunately. Help me help them!

By far the most difficult part of this job is saying goodbye…Jersey has been coming to see me every six weeks almost from the beginning, and she will always have a special place in my heart. I’ll miss singing (badly) Jersey Girl to you while giving you your spa day, and waiting patiently for “loves”, which you always withheld until your collar was back on and you knew it was time for mama to come pick you up…silly girl. Rest easy, Jersey girl 💔

Just a reminder, the Lucky Penny will never charge a late cancellation fee for weather related issues, including this ridiculous cold! I might not be able to guarantee a quick reschedule date, but I’ll do my best to get you in as soon as possible. Nothing is more important to me than my little pups and their moms and dads, so please don’t risk going out in this weather if you feel it’s unsafe at all. As of now, I plan on being open, but I work 20 seconds away from my house, so don’t let that influence your decision at all! Stay warm everyone!

I wasn’t receiving texts for some reason, so if anyone tried texting last night or this morning, I didn’t get it! I did get about three notices saying a text couldn’t be delivered, and it’s driving me crazy not knowing who it was lol!
It’s working now :-)

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING PRICE INCREASE!
Firstly, I want to wish everyone a very happy New Year! 2025…my goodness. That sounded like such a crazy, futuristic year back when we were younger lol! I mean, Conan hasn’t been able to do his “in the year 2000” segment for 25 YEARS! And I want to thank each and every one of you for the trust you’ve shown in me these past couple of years, and for allowing me to be a small part of your amazing pups’ lives!
I have always prided myself with offering affordable grooming by keeping my overhead low, which means I can charge less than most one on one salons. However, in the two years since I’ve been open, that overhead has increased by quite a bit. My $60 shampoo now costs $78, and that’s just the basic! And utilities? I’m sure you all know how much those have increased, yikes! And unfortunately all this means I have to raise my prices for the first time since opening my doors 😞
Prices will still be determined by breed, size, condition and time spent on each session, but I’m trying to keep most increases $5 and under. I will still offer specialized one on one grooming sessions in a low stress environment, obviously…and I will keep my promise to treat your baby like my own while they are in my care. I hope everyone understands that this increase is necessary to remain in business, as much as I hate it! I will do my best to let everyone know before their next visit, but this will also serve as an additional notice, since I also hate those surprise price increases!
So all that being said, I can’t wait to see you all in this futuristic year lol! Sometimes I can’t believe how lucky I am to have a job that I actually love, working with the best furbabies in the world! Happy New Year from the Lucky Penny!!

I swear, I have the best clients ever! I just wanted to give a huge thank you to everyone who has thought of me this Christmas! There have been quite a few sweet treats and gifts of food, which means my clients know me very well lol! It makes me smile to know they are thinking of me, even though I’ve been just a small part of their lives this year. But the best gift is trusting me with your babies and bringing them back to me all year! You all are the best!
