Serenity and Hemi were given oral antibiotics and eye drops are needed every 4 hours. The URI is pretty severe and the infection has travelled to their lungs just a bit.

They should be feeling better soon though.

They’re eating with the syringe great and even though we could not really take in two more kittens last night, I’m glad we did. They wouldn’t have made it without meds.

I am so grateful Family Paws fit them in today for us and watched them all day.

I found out they’re both girls and there may be a sibling out there still. The mom was spotted today with another kitten so we will wait to trap her and see.

What a week it’s already been!

They’re estimated around 4 weeks and are not quite 1lb yet.

A year later and so many people still ask about him.

Thankfully, Family Paws can see them this morning and will keep them all day for observation.

They definitely need some oral meds. Their poor little eyes were both crusted shut this morning and their little nostrils, too.

They were syringe fed this morning and the fluffy boy lapped up some on his own. The tabby sister had to be fully syringed. I think they’re right around the 4 week mark. I had to potty them, but they’re pretty close to knowing how to use the litterbox.

They’re headed to the vet and we named them after the streets they were found on/by. Serenity and Hemi

Family Paws will be taking donations for their care this morning and we could use an experienced foster for them. They can’t come to the cat cafe. We have a healthy mom and kittens in the isolation room and even though we technically have space and a cage, I can’t put sick kittens in there with them.

If you’d like to donate to Family Paws for their care, 586-837-2278.

Thank you!!! ❤️

Tonight at 9:18pm I received a text of two kittens with bad URi’s in a nearby trailer park.

There was already a TNR project going on in Lake Orion and we were a few cats short so I thought maybe if we head to this location we can make up the difference.

We trapped one fluffy adult male that was so friendly he could be pet and picked up. He looks like our Tommy Lee. He had some scratches on his head and was definitely not neutered.

The mom to the sick kittens had little interest in caring for her kittens and disappeared and by 1am we called it a night.

I cleaned up the kittens and it looks like their eyes can be saved. They will be at the vet tomorrow for some antibiotics for their congestion and runny bloody and green noses.

They are probably 4 weeks old and James will go back tomorrow after work and try for mom again. The kittens can’t eat on their own and are being syringe fed.

The Lake Orion location trapped 12 cats today so a total of 13 cat TNR’d tomorrow and 5 kittens saved from the streets. Not too bad for a Sunday.

Look at these two from tonight. The three from Lake Orion are older but weigh less than these. It sucks to see so many cats and kittens suffering out there.
