Pet of the Week: Matilda!

Matilda just joined our National Landing pack, and she’s already stolen our hearts. At only 4 months old, she came in shy and unsure—those first couple days took plenty of encouragement to get her into the play room.

Now she runs to the gate to see her friends. She’s blossomed fast, building confidence, initiating play, and soaking up attention from the attendants.

We’re so happy to have Matilda in the pack! 🐾💛

Team Member of the Week: Daniel!

Daniel has been with District Dogs for a year and a half and jumps in wherever he’s needed. You’ll find him greeting clients up front or getting the whole play room excited with his goofy, high-energy style. He’s always willing to help and genuinely loves spending time with our pack.

We’re lucky to have him on the National Landing team!

🐾 Dog of the Week: Collins! 🐾

Collins has officially been around the District Dogs block! This superstar started her journey in our Northeast location and has now visited every single District Dogs spot — talk about a true DD veteran! 🌟

These days, you can catch Collins hanging out at Park View three times a week, spreading her signature charm. When she first joined the PV pack back in 2023, she was our resident room guardian — making sure everyone followed the rules (classic fun police behavior 👮‍♀️🐶).

But oh, how times have changed! Collins has totally blossomed into the life of the party. She’s now the first to kick off the zoomies, rally the crew, and make sure everyone is having a blast. 🎉🐕💛

We love watching how much she’s grown and how she brings such positive energy to the pack. We’re so lucky to have Collins as part of the District Dogs family!

These pre-vet and animal science students joined Elvis and Delonte for an interactive session on canine behavior, communication, and enrichment. We’re so proud to support the next generation of animal-care professionals. 🐕✨

Meet Nicole, our bather and extra-services extraordinaire! ✨

Nicole has a special talent for making every dog look and feel their absolute best. From singing along with the little pups 🎶 to keeping everyone active with a good walk (who’s up for walkies? 🐕‍🦺), she brings energy, care, and heart to everything she does.

We’re so lucky to have her making tails wag and pups shine every single day! 🐾

Meet Joey G., our Italian Greyhound superstar and certified daycare pro! 🐶✨

This little speedster has raced his way through daycares all over the country — from sunny Miami ☀️ to bustling Cleveland 🌆 — and now he’s showing off his zoomies right here in DC!

Joey might be small, but his heart (and his zooms) are huge. 💛 Whether he’s sprinting across the playroom or snuggling up for a quick rest, his charm is impossible to resist.

We were back outside for our agility basics class today, and the dogs did amazing with their first contact obstacle - scramble and walk! For our final class next week, we’ll be continuing to chain obstacles together, and begin running a full course!

We would like to take a moment to recognize one of our amazing trainers, Kathryn McCullough (pictured here with Bilbo). Although she has only been with District Dogs for a short time, her dedication, professionalism, and experience have been welcome addition to the Park View and Shaw training programs. Kathryn has new basics and leash walking classes starting at our Park View Enrichment Center starting in May, and available for enrollment

Congratulations to our most recent CGC graduates Gus, Mila, and Keppe! All these pups started their training journey with us, and we are so proud to send them off into the world as Canine Good Citizens. They still have to take the exam, but we know they will pass with flying colors!

STRUCTURED DAYCARE SUCCESS STORY: Nocciola is a private training client that I began working with last year to address some leash reactivity. Her owner reported that she had issues with group play and socialization since puppyhood. Per my recommendation, Nocciola completed her first day at our Structured Daycare program and thrived! Not only was she calm, confident, and incredibly sweet with her new friends, we were also able to continue working on her obedience skills, and reactivity training plan. Congrats to Nocciola on another big step forward!
