Meet Ollie! Ollie had chronic tearing from both eyes prior to surgery. Her owners write

"Dear Dr. Armour (and the AVO team),

We just wanted to say thank you again for the fantastic work you did on Ollie’s eye surgery! She has been stain free since her stitches were removed last Friday, and she seems to be living her best life without any irritation or leaking. Below is a picture of Ollie (left) and her brother (right), and as you can see, they look like twins now that Ollie has clear eyes. We cannot thank you enough, and so appreciate how you took such good care of our precious girl!"

Take a look at Ollie's before and after pics! We love her!

For Doctors Who Care For Pets, It’s Also a Trying Time

This article really hits home for our AVO family. It is so tough not to be able to meet clients face to face, to try to explain complicated disease processes over the phone or to examine my patients with a mask on while the slit lamp fogs up. I know that these are tough times; looking forward to getting back to normal hopefully sometime soon.

The coronavirus pandemic is eroding the ability of veterinarians to care for pets and the owners who love them; ‘Just like with the human hospitals, there’s going to be a breaking point’

Lucy is a sweet kitten who, two weeks ago was blind with changes to both eyes consistent with Feline Infectious Peritonitis, or FIP. FIP is a terrible disease with a horrible long term prognosis. She started on a new therapy orally two weeks ago. Last night, she is chasing laser pointers again! Her response has been amazing! I am so hopeful that this will cure little Lucy! #armoureyevet Armour Veterinary Ophthalmology Friendship Hospital for Animals

This sweet pup came to visit us last week. He gave us the hairy eyeball, literally! A dermoid is normal tissue in an unusual location. Thankfully in his case, the hairs are short and not painful. Often, dermoids are surgically removed to get pups out of a hairy situation. ☺️ #armoureyevet
