‼️BARN CATS NEED PLACED ASAP‼️

We are over capacity for cats in our care and these 4 kitties need to get back outside where they want to be!

These kitties do not like to be stuck indoors. They are getting very stressed out being inside with us at the shelter!!

We currently have 2 borderline feral and 2 semi friendly cats looking for shop/barn home placement.

They will need acclimated to their new areas for 2-4 weeks, before being released. A daily food/water source and shelter provided to be sure they stay on your property.

These cats were living outside previously and were thriving. They cannot go back to where they came from for various reasons and they are not indoor house cats. None of them are from the same area.

All barn cats are spayed/neutered, eartipped (Nellie is not eartipped), vaccinated and current on monthly parasite prevention.

Shop/Barn cats have no set adoption fee, we just ask for a monetary donation to help us continue the program.

‼️You will need a large dog sized crate for each cat for acclimation time. (We do not have any to loan out.) And a smaller sized cat carrier to transport in (we do not have any to loan out, please bring your own to pick up) and you would also use the smaller crate as the “safe spot” in the bigger dog crate. Please see comments for a photo of an acclimation cage set up and further directions on how to acclimate properly. This ensures they stay on your property after the acclimation period.‼️

Paper Barncat applications can be filled out at FCAC. Please contact us via messenger or call during business hours, if you can help with placing any of these kitties!

BARN HOMES NEEDED!

A large colony of community cats is being forced to relocate and are looking for new homes. We are looking for several barn homes for them to safely live out their lives. No experience needed! You’ll need to feed them and provide fresh water daily, as well as provide shelter (i.e. a barn).

We will provide you with a relocation plan best suited for these cats to help them stay.

All cats will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated and ear tipped.

If you are interested or want more information, please contact us! You can send us a message on Facebook, call us at 317-558-9532, or email us at [email protected].

❗️🆘 ❗️Barn/Shop homes
needed ASAP!!! ❗️🆘❗️

❗️We have 6 kitties in all, needing placement!! That’s 6 cages that will be freed up to help other cats, currently on our intake waitlist! 3 are adults (one feral, one semi friendly and one friendly); and 3 are semi handleable, under 4 month old kittens.❗️

These kitties are not housecats! They are all semi-friendly to semi-feral and need to be placed ASAP, as they are getting stressed out being stuck inside cages here at the shelter! They cannot be returned to the properties they came from for numerous reasons.

They are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and eartipped (with exception to one of them)!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Barn kitties will do best in pairs if you don’t already have other outside kitties. They do not have set adoption fees, all we ask is for any kind of monetary donation to help us continue our barn cat program!!
They will require acclimation time, before being released into their new surroundings. And reliable source for shelter, food & water.
📍See comments for acclimation information.
** It is not advised to relocate established cat colonies. If you are feeding numerous cats outside, please make it a point to try to start getting them spayed/neutered & eartipped! We have a Low Cost Spay/Neuter for cats held here at FCAC for Fulton, Starke & Miami County residents! It is only $25 per cat! Link to schedule and see all the information is posted in comments.
‼️🔸KITTIES NEED PLACED ASAP!!🔸‼️
UPDATED!! Currently just O’Malley needs placement!!
We currently have 5 semi-feral (do not seek your attention or want touched) cats looking for shop/barn home placement. They are getting stressed out being inside with us at the shelter!
They will need acclimated to their new areas for 2-4 weeks, before being released. A daily food/water source and shelter provided to be sure they stay on your property.
These cats were living outside previously and were thriving. They cannot go back to where they came from for various reasons and they are not indoor house cats.
Lucifer, Cruella & Ursula are littermates and 13 weeks old. They do not like to be handled and do not want attention, therefore we cannot place them in our adoption pens as indoor housecat candidates. They were born to a semi feral mom and had barely any human contact as young kittens. We do not have the time or resources here at the shelter to try to socialize them.
O’Malley & Bronx are over a year old. They are not from the same area.
All barn cats are spayed/neutered, eartipped, vaccinated and current on monthly parasite prevention.
Shop/Barn cats have no set adoption fee, we just ask for a monetary donation to help us continue the program.
‼️You will need a large dog sized crate for each cat for acclimation time. (We do not have any to loan out.) Extreme Weather Alert
Indianapolis is heading into some of the hottest and most humid weather of the year, with temperatures expected to reach the low-to-mid 90s this week and dangerous heat possible.
Indy Neighborhood Cats wants to remind caretakers to take extra steps to protect outdoor cats during extreme heat:
Provide extra cool, fresh water and refresh it often. Large ice blocks can help water stay cooler longer. Place food and water in shaded areas whenever possible, and consider setting bowls on terracotta, ceramic, or other insulated surfaces to help reduce heat from the ground.
Please also check bedding and shelter areas. Replace damp or dirty bedding with fresh, dry materials and make sure cats have access to shade and airflow.
Hot, humid weather also creates ideal conditions for fleas, mosquitoes, and other parasites, so please keep an eye on outdoor cats for signs of irritation, illness, or distress.
As a reminder, Indianapolis city/county ordinances restrict trapping when temperatures rise above 90°F. Please do not trap during dangerous heat unless you are working directly under approved emergency guidance.
For sick or injured cats outside that need immediate assistance, use the request Indy website and ask for a Sick/Injured stray cat request. https://request.indy.gov/citizen/s/
😻WILL WORK FOR FOOD!😻
Not every cat dreams of couch life. Some prefer a career. A purpose. A territory to patrol. A barn to guard. A warehouse to supervise. A shed to claim as their kingdom.
We currently have 7 incredible Working Cats who are ready for placement, and they need YOU.
These cats:
🐈Prefer independence over cuddles
🐈May not be fans of getting picked up
🐈Thrive with space, structure, and a job to do
🐈Are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped
✨And the best part?
We deliver them to you, set them up in their temporary relocation enclosures, and support you through the entire acclimation process to ensure success.🤝
❤️ Why It Matters?
Giving these cats a safe working home opens up desperately needed space in our crowded shelter. Placing these 7 cats doesn’t just save 7 lives... it saves 14!
Seven cats get their new start, and seven more get a chance to take their place in the shelter.
🌾 Ideal Homes:
Barns
Farms
Workshops
Warehouses
Garden centers
Breweries
Any safe indoor/outdoor working environment
If you have room for a pair (or more!) of hardworking feline employees, they’re ready to clock in.
