🌻🐝 The hardest workers on the farm don't wear boots... they wear wings.

Every sunflower is a busy little world, feeding the bees that help our gardens grow and our harvests thrive. Watching this fuzzy Lil dude at work is a reminder that even the smallest creatures make the biggest difference.

We're proud to grow flowers that feed the pollinators, because a healthy farm starts with healthy bees. 💛

Some people see a gourd. 🌿

We see hours of care.

Today Patience is gently guiding our gourd vines up the trellis, giving them the support they need to grow strong, healthy, and produce beautiful fruit. It’s one of those behind-the-scenes farm jobs that most people never see—but it’s an important part of helping nature do what it does best.

Around here, every vine has a purpose, every plant gets a little attention, and every harvest starts with moments like these.

This beauty stopped by the farm today for a quick rest among the tiger lilies, reminding us to slow down and appreciate the little things. Between gathering eggs, tending the garden, and caring for our flock, moments like these make all the hard work worthwhile.
Every bloom tells a story, and every butterfly brings a little bit of magic to the farm. 🌼🐓

Did you know that a chicken’s eggshell is made mostly of calcium, and a laying hen needs a surprising amount of it every single day?

Without enough calcium, hens may lay thin-shelled or soft-shelled eggs and can even pull calcium from their own bones to keep producing eggs.

That’s why offering a quality layer feed and free-choice oyster shell is so important for a healthy flock!
Healthy hens = strong eggshells = happy chicken keepers! 🥚🐔

Today, we’re giving a little extra love to the women who had to be both mom and dad.

Not everyone was blessed with a father who showed up, but many of us were fortunate enough to have strong women who stepped into that role without hesitation. They worked harder, carried more, sacrificed more, and somehow made it all look effortless.

Here on the farm, we see that same spirit every day. Our hens don’t wait around for someone else to raise their chicks. They protect, teach, guide, and nurture their babies from day one.

So today, we’re celebrating the women who filled two pairs of shoes, the grandmothers, mothers, aunts, sisters, and mentors who showed us what strength really looks like.

To all the women who carried the load when they didn’t have to—thank you.

When you're supposed to be helping on the farm but the grass is just too comfortable..🐾☀️

Hi I'm Tater.

Chief happiness officer here at Two Chicks and a Hoe Urban Farm.

Today's responsibilities include:
✔️supervising the chickens
✔️inspecting the lawn
✔️testing the Comfort level of the grass ✔️requesting additional belly rubs
It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it.
