S Lazy D Ranch LLC Welcome! I purchased the land that would become the S Lazy D Ranch LLC in 1992,it has been in my family since 1873.

The first animals arrived here in 2004.Currently the herd ranges between 13 and 19 animals.These animals are all grass-fed,getting corn and apples only as a treat. I raise and harvest all of my own hay,puting up about 50 ton every year,and I take NO farm subsidies on this farm.

It has been a sad day here,this is the last load of buffalo leaving the ranch. What started out as a dream probably 25 years ago came to a conclusion today. I would not trade it for anything,there have been ups and downs but is was one hell of an experience . Thanks go out to Jenny and Darryl Chambers for helping today, and all the other neighbors and friends that have helped thru the years.

Dear friends and followers,
After much thought and consideration I have decided that the time has come to sell the Buffalo. I have thought long and hard about this, and have come to the conclusion that is the right decision. I want to thank ALL of my loyal customers and supporters,for without them this dream that started long ago would not have come to be. A few people that I want to single out, most importantly my wife Ann,she supported me through out, Ron and Connie Fairchild, my mom Darlene Schroeder, my in-,laws Ed and Ruth Christen,my daughter Becky DeGroot and Brock Craig to which I had a great working relationship with.
I will keep the farm for now but there will be an auction in the not so far future where the land and machinery will be sold.

I fed the first hay this year, and this is a common site, I don't know why he does this but afterwards everything is good. Always fun to watch them when I feed,its like when they hear the tractor, it's time to eat
