With everything happening so fast, I forgot to share the good news on this page. Pinky's Pet Salon is up and running! Our sign is not installed yet but we have a cute pink neon paw print open sign to let you know we are there. Pinky and I can't wait to see you at the shop!

Tomorrow is opening day!!!

The thing that was prohibiting us from opening was our sign. The city of Warren is very backed up and the permit for my sign has been pending and I was told it’s still going to be pending for about two weeks. But, Rachel from sign & more in Troy went above and beyond to help me be able to open by flipping the old Shear Delight paneling over plain white paneling.

That being said , the opening is not going 100% like I had planned in my head. I wanted to have my sign and everything be perfect, but luckily everybody on schedule tomorrow were clients of Shear Delight that followed us groomers over to Claws and Paws and will be back with us at Pinky’s.

Even though it won’t be exactly like I imagined I am so happy and excited to be able to get back to homebase and see all of you beautiful people over here. I have more sappy things to say, but I will write that in another post because right now I’m just way too excited and my insides are doing backflips.

Shear Delight is planning a memorial service for Eric.

Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Vivios Warren from 12-4

(His birthday is the next day, so we can celebrate that as well!)

We are saddened to learn that Eric passed away last night.

In the beginning of February, Eric found out he had a brain tumor and went in for emergency surgery. After finding out it was cancerous he went into hospice yesterday and passed away the following night.

He was a great person, boss, and friend. He always wanted the best for everyone, especially his clients at Shear Delight. He loved all the dogs and cats he worked with during his 40+ years of grooming.

We cannot believe how sudden this was, and we will miss him greatly. We hope he understands that we wish we could have been there with him, but we know he is at peace now. We have been told Debbie is at a memory care facility. We know Eric will be waiting for her, whenever that is.

The future of the shop is still unknown at this point.

We would like to thank everyone who has been supportive, and we know Eric is thanking you guys as well.

We understand your frustrations with us closing the shop. We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience. We feel awful about this.

A lawyer advised us to NOT enter the shop once we closed the doors. LEGALLY we are unable to do anything.

We still have not heard from Eric.
Until we hear from him, we will be closed.

The workers of Shear Delight and Eric's mother-in-law are unable to contact Eric at the hospital as of Thursday.

For legal and ethical reasons, we are forced to close again. It feels incredibly wrong to keep this business running while having no idea of his health status. We have tried everything we can do to keep this business open, but every time we overcome one obstacle, another happens.

We are hoping in a few weeks, Eric will be well enough to reach out to us.

We absolutely love our customers and love our jobs. We are truly sorry we have to close unexpectedly. Thank you to all of you who have stayed by us during this difficult time.
