So... It's been a minute lol

The chicks in my last post are laying eggs already and they're so pretty so I thought I would share my haul today.

The nice thing about new chicks each year is you still have eggs in fall while everyone else is molting.

The two green and dark, almost pink egg are from my three Tractor Supply babies that I kept.

I'm thrilled to announce the arrival of my new chicks! (Calypso, my daughter's mischievous cat, thinks they're her latest toys).

After multiple trips to Tractor Supply, I finally ordered 10 "assorted color egg production" chicks from their website. They arrived a week ago, and I've been monitoring their progress closely. Thankfully, all 10 are doing fantastic!

I'm excited to learn more about their breeds and, of course, collect those gorgeous eggs in the future - assuming they're all girls, that is!

"Breeds that may be included ... are Americana, Cuckoo Marans, Midnight Majesty Marans, Prairie Bluebell Eggers, Olive Eggers, Sapphire Olive Eggers or Starlight Green Eggers."

Which breeds do you think I got?

I don't have any giant sunflowers in the garden this year. But I do have some tiny ones along with some other beautiful annuals and perennials. I am enjoying all the colors.

Carmella does not like to share, but so far she and Heather are doing a great job raising them together, while Oreo keeps an eye on everyone.

18 Muscovy Hens hatched this summer. Many carry barred or ripple genes.

Loving all my pretty babies this year! Who knew my black drake was hiding chocolate, lavender, and ripple when I bought him 4 years ago! 😍
