Fiery Dancer got an extremely special call this week for this little filly!! All of our calls are special and I’ve seen fighters but this little one takes the cake!! At 1 week of age her real mother tried to kill her!! A broken nose and jaw among with and eye so damaged that it will have to be removed! 😔 but through it all this filly found love and kindness in our nursemare Fiery Dancer!! This is just her second year with us but we picked the right lady for the job!! Within 15 minutes of entering the stall with this terrified baby Dancer had this baby comfortable enough for her to start looking to nurse again!! Due to the seriousness of the swelling her mouth would not cooperate so the vets milked Dancer and tube fed her Dancers milk until she was finally able to latch on and drink by herself approximately 36 hours later!! As hard as it was to see this poor baby hurt in such a way…it was amazing to see how hopeful and brighter she became once she understood that Dancer was there to love and help her heal!! 🙏❤️🙏

This is Maybe!!! She has quite a story! We rescued her when she was 2 yrs old..she was so weak that when she layed down it took 4 of us to get her up then 2 weeks after we got her she was getting stronger..but ended up having Tetanus..we rushed to get the antitoxin and started her on penicillin!! However 3-4 days into the treatment we almost lost her twice due to a hypersensitivity to the Pen!! We tried to treat her with oral antibiotics after that but they made her colic!! So we were forced to just hope and pray she made it! So when people asked if I thought she was going to make I would say “I don’t know…Maybe!! And that is how she got her name “Maybe She Did”
Fast forward a few years….Maybe was used as a recipient mare to allow her to have enough foals to be able to become one of the most wonderful nursemares we have!! This is her with her third orphaned foal of her nursemare career!! She was meant to be!! ❤️❤️❤️

So I have a bunch of catching up to do!! I’ll start with Romance Dance!! This is only her second year with us…I can’t tell you how lucky we are to have her!! We got to her baby at approximately 1:30am….though I’m sure she thought she should be sleeping at that hour she was thrilled when she met her new baby boy that had lost his momma earlier that day!! Baby got a full belly and immediately crashed for a big nap! The last 2 pics show them the next day having a grand time together!! 😱Romance Dance why aren’t you still grey!! 😂😂
