Chrest Kennels We train, test and breed versatile German Shorthaired Pointers, and train other pointing breeds. Located on 56 south, between Hayfield and Waltham.

Chrest Kennels is a pointing dog training facility in SE Minnesota. We are a short 30 minute drive south west of Rochester and 20 minutes north east of Austin. We are an avid hunting family that trains German Shorthaired Pointers and other pointing breeds. We test our dogs in the NAVHDA testing system and AKC, as well as the show ring when we can.

We’re excited to announce the 2025 Summer litter of:

VC Chrest’s Hail to the King NA-2, UT-I and Chrest’s She’s Got the Look NA-2

These two are proven wild bird dogs that have been hunted throughout the midwest on pheasants, sharptails, huns, quail,ruffed grouse and waterfowl.
Jasper achieved his NAVHDA Versataile Champion title in 2024 and has 3 passes towards his AKC Master Hunter title.
Jill will be running more AKC Master Hunter, Field trials and NAVHDA Utility in 2025. She has one Master Hunter pass in 2024 then had a foot injury that sidelined her most of the spring and summer. These two are very cooperative and take to training with ease. They are both wonderful dogs in their homes. If you have questions feel free to reach out.
