Walking your dog is an enjoyable daily activity for everyone involved, but beware if it’s a warmer day, because hot pavement = burned paws 😢☀️🐶

If it’s too hot for your bare feet, it’s too hot for theirs! On warm days, pavement can reach dangerous temperatures quickly—causing pain, blisters, or even permanent damage.

🌅 Walk your pup early in the morning or later in the evening when the ground is cooler, and always check the pavement with your hand first. Hold the back of your hand firmly on the ground for 5 seconds, and if it burns you, it’ll burn your pup, too.

Let’s keep those paws safe! 🐾❤️

Sarah joined the Pet Squad last year and the dogs and clients love her! She has her own dog, Rowen, who is also going to start hiking with Sarah and her crew. Sarah does hikes, walks and petsitting and I couldn’t have asked for a better hire in recent time! 🫶🏼

🚗🔥 NEVER LEAVE YOUR DOG IN A HOT CAR 🔥🐶

Even with the windows cracked, a car can become a death trap in just minutes. On a warm day, temperatures inside a vehicle can soar to 120°F or more in under 10 minutes—even if it’s only 75°F outside.

It only takes SIX MINUTES for a dog to suffer brain damage or die from heatstroke.
If you love them, LEAVE THEM AT HOME.

Signs of heatstroke in dogs:
❗️ Heavy panting
❗️ Drooling or vomiting
❗️ Lethargy or collapse

What you can do:
✅ Leave pets at home when running errands
✅ Call 911 if you see a dog in distress in a hot car
✅ Educate others—your voice could save a life

No errand is worth their life.
