A place of second chances. EIN: 33-4834579 Pletch Senior Dog Sanctuary was born from a love too big to be contained — a love between a father, a daughter, and the dogs who filled their lives with joy. Founded in memory of W. Pletch, this sanctuary stands as a living tribute to the bond we shared. We believe every soul deserves a soft place to land, a gentle touch, and a future full of love. Pletch

Sanctuary is not just a shelter; it is a family, a home, and a promise that no one will ever be forgotten. We are a pending 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to giving old souls a second chance.

When I rescued Gracie from Oklahoma Animal Welfare, she was terrified, shut down, and running on fear.

Today, during training with Matthias Zehfuss, we reached a milestone I wasn’t sure we’d ever see.

I dropped the leash.

And Gracie came back.

After watching her work, Matthias looked at me and said something I’ll never forget:

“You saved her, Lizzy.”

The truth is, Gracie has done a lot of the saving too.

She has taught me patience. She has taught me perseverance. She has reminded me that some of the most broken souls just need someone willing to believe in them a little longer.

Months ago, her life was measured in minutes.

Today, it’s measured in possibilities.

This is why we fight for them.
This is why second chances matter.
This is Gracie’s story.

❤️ Rescue.
❤️ Rehabilitation.
❤️ Trust.

UPDATE: the puppies have all been adopted.

These puppies were dumped in Comanche and urgently need help. A kind woman took them in temporarily so they would be safe, but she cannot keep them long term. She does not know what breed they are, but they appear to be young mixed-breed puppies and deserve a chance at a good home instead of being left on the side of the road.

My Sanctuary at WH Pletch is full at this time.

If you can, adopt or help network them, please reach out as soon as possible. Even sharing this post could help save their lives.

Please be kind. Dumping animals is not the answer. These babies did not ask for this.

Cache is more than just a sanctuary dog to us. He represents every abandoned, senior, and unwanted dog we fight for every day at W. H. Pletch Sanctuary.

The top dog receives $10,000, and that money would help us continue building a safe place for dogs who have nowhere else to go. If you’d like to support our mission, we would truly appreciate your vote for Johnny Cache.

Rescued 10 years ago, Johnny Cache became the official greeter at Urban Bakery. He never meets a stranger and believes every customer came just to see him.” He is also the welcoming dog at our sanctuary, WH Pletch sanctuary.

Some dogs are not broken by nature.
They are broken by people.

When I rescued Gracie in January, she was scheduled for euthanasia. She trembled, hid from everyone, and would run toward the woods out of fear. Today, with patience and the help of Zehfuss K9 Training, I can drop the leash and she stays beside me.

She will never be discarded again. Gracie has a home at WH Pletch Senior Dog Sanctuary for life.

Thank you to everyone who supports this mission. Dogs like Gracie are why we keep going.

They have all had their foot massage with Butter Balm from Warren London. Now they are snoring.

People ask me sometimes what I give our senior dogs, and one thing I’ve started using is Native Pet vitamins.

When you rescue older dogs, you notice the little things. Stiff joints, slower walks, upset tummies, low energy… so I try to do whatever I can to help them feel comfortable and happy.

I became an affiliate for Native Pet because I actually use it here with our seniors and truly like it.

At the end of the day, these dogs deserve good care and all the comfort we can give them in this stage of life. ❤️
