It’s a boy! Santa Domenica AS (San Amour x Fleurop x Davignon) gave birth to a tall, leggy, healthy foal yesterday by Baron (Benicio x Sir Donnerhall). This is the first Baron foal born in the US and we couldn’t be more pleased with his modern type, balance, expressive movement and temperament.

Kelly helped welcome him into this world and clearly is one of his favorite people already! ❤️❤️

Santa Domenica is a 2010 mare by San Amour x Fleurop x Davignon who received praise and premium status for her ridability at her Mare Performance test in Germany, high remarks for her gaits, confirmation and active hind end. Her 2016 foal by Dante Weltino was nominated for the Westfalian auction. In 2017, she had a gorgeous filly by For Romance, who received glowing reviews at her Hanoverian inspection. For 2018, we are expecting the FIRST foal on US soil from the exciting young Benicio x Sir Donnerhall stallion, Baron!

Santa’s sire, San Amour always fascinates spectators with his breath-taking trot. He is an exceptionally dynamic mover with uphill gaits and has lots of activity behind while allowing the movements to swing through his entire body while showing phenomenal talent for the collected work as well.
He fulfilled the high expectations during his 70-day performance test, which he finished with a superior dressage index. He was twice awarded a 9.5 for his excellent rideability!
His pedigree is remarkable – full of the most influential sires. His dam Puppenfee, a stunning mover, was reserve champion mare and was granted “elite” status. She is a full sister to the approved stallion Pierrot Royal. San Amour combines the traits of the champion producer Sandro Hit with the proven Oldenburg Arusa dam line. Her sire Plaisir d’Amour has won many Grand Prix, Grand Prix Special and Freestyle competitions. Figaro is known as a producer of tough and versatile performance sport horses with top rideability. As San Amour continues to impress in sport, he has also built a reputation for passing along his modern type and superior ridability, making San Amour offspring highly desired.
On the dam side, we have Fleurop, an impressive son of Florestean I, out of the world-class Furioso line. With outstanding paces and a lovely temperament, it’s easy to see why this line is treasured among amateurs and pros alike. Rounding out her impressive pedigree is grand-dam, Dream Dancing. Dream Dancing decends from the Davignon, a Grand Prix competitor, who for many years led the German breeding index and has produced over 30 licensed sons. Davignon is by the legendary Donnerhall.

We have repeated the breeding for a March 2018 foal. Saphia is another mare who carries a treasured pedigree. Sire, Scolari is a stallion who pulls viewers into his spell by a special appearance and habitus. Equipped with distinctive, stallion expression and absolutely superior quality of movements we see him as a sire of a special class. Scolari is big framed, very leggy and shows a wonderfully harmonious side view. His movements in trot and canter are very ground covering and fluid. His walk is very secure with a nice rhythm. His pedigree - Sandro Hit-De Niro- Weltmeyer-Grenadier is pure dressage gold. The capabilities and stamp these stallions bring has been proven over several breeding generations. Scolari’s dam line is one of the most successful lines in the Hanoverian horse breeding. Scolari's heredity can be described as excellent. Very clear results showed the genetic breeding values for 2012, which sees him in the top 1% of the German dressage sires and has ranked him as the highest rated stallion of his year. On Saphia’s dam side, the pedigree is just as brilliant!

Her dam, Darietta is by the Grand Prix stallion, Donnerschlag. For many years the main sire at St. Ludwig, Donnerschlag left his distinctive mark on an era of breeding at the respected stud. His career had many high points, "enough to fill a book." Donnerschlag posted many wins and placings at Grand Prix and World Cup , Intermediare level. His sire, Donnerhall was a stallion of legendary proportions, who achieved the unbelievable sire production index for dressage of 274 points! His dam, Pirola was a full sister to P*k Bube I and II. Saphia’s grand dam, Rubina is by none other than Rubenstein, a stallion who needs absolutely no introduction as his competition record at Grand Prix and ability to pass on the fantastic brain and talent shout his praises loud and clear -- An accomplished dressage performer, he had 40 wins at Grand Prix level, was a member of the 1996 Olympic team, sired 89 state premium mares and 66 approved stallions. He was the sire of many top auction horses and Grand Prix winners. Rubenstein's dam, Antine, was a full sister to three-time Olympic competitor, Amon, and two-time Olympic champion, Ahlerich (rider: Reiner Klimke)!
