It's pathetic that Lippitt mares have more non-Lippitt foals than full Lippitt foals every year. Our breeding numbers are less than 800 sound breeding age animals. The last couple years in a row we could not get 50 pure Lippitt foals registered. Then people like this, are out there using Lippitt lines to better their colorful breeding objectives. There's stallions out there that are full Lippitt, that can be used for this purpose without hurting Lippitt numbers. With the technology we have, there is also Embryo Transfer and Artificial Insemination which are better alternatives than taking a Lippitt mare out of production for a year.
