Today's Pet in the Spotlight

***Anubis***

The Egyptians used to worship cats and sometimes we wonder if Anubis remembers those days. This three year old Russian Blue Maine C**n mix is well loved by anyone who wonders into Stasha's house. He acts more like a dog, greeting people at the front door, goes outside in the morning to check the yard, and he plays with the dog toys.

He does love snuggling on the dog bed, snuggling his brother and sister. He also encourages his sister to eat her food, by rubbing her as if he's petting her, then also eating his own food while she chows down. He absolutely loves to snuggle, always checking on his humans, and he does demand his father pick him up and and give him pets. He will follow his dad around the house, meowing at him until he does.

He is an amazing cat who loves everyone.

Today's Pet in the Spotlight

***Athena***

This queen before you is very much a mixture of drama and potato! Zero perception when it comes to personal space, her favorite spot in the entire house is her moms lap, even if her mom is in the middle of trying to do -anything-. All play and no work, Athena is a handful for her mom Kelli, but it's mostly a labor of love... and patience.

Not so gentle and not so much grace, she is a goofy, loving doggo who has too much energy, except when she doesn't. She is much loved, even when she accidently headbutts you. She is a wonderful dog, just don't try to cut her nails... She will cry.

Today's Pet in the Spotlight

***Xena***

May the 4th be with you! This May 4th is a very special day for our sale manager Karyn and Xena; it is the one year anniversary of adding Xena to her family! Xena is an Australian cattle dog, about to be 9 on May 17th!

She had some issues coming into the home from previous owners, but with work and love, she has blossomed into the most wonderful love bug! Just like her name, she is a warrior princess, having survived some not so great owners to now defending her yard against those horrible squirrels. Xena is clever, convincing members of the family that she hasn't been fed. She extremely smart, well behaved, and loves snuggling with her person, Karyn's daughter. She has had a bumpy life, but is now a spoiled princess (with a fuzzy robe to prove it).

Todays Pet in the Spotlight

*** Sadie ***

Precious, wonderful, unforgettable, these are a few of the words that come to mind when speaking about Sadie. She was Maryland's first bereavement dog, the SECOND bereavement dog in the entire United State. This earned her the KIP (keep it personal) awarded from the ICCFA. She attended many funerals to help families. Her story is an amazing journey, which you can read in”Sadie & Sammy: A Tail of Love, Loss, & Friendship” by Bill Dixon & Gail Manuel. She is loved and forever remembered by so many who were blessed to have known her.

Spring Rejuvenation has begun!

Fresh mulch down and our flowers are already in bloom!

We are so happy to have spring in full swing here at the park!

With the beautiful weather ahead, we are excited to see more visitors coming in.

We have all seen these wonderful balloon arrangements.

They are beautiful, however, they do not belong on cemetery grounds. Please do not tie them to the vase, do not leave them on the memorials, don't bring them here. It is too windy, they get loose and blow everywhere, to include into the traffic on Mattawoman Beantown Road.

If they deflate, they can permanently damage memorials.

We have to discard them whenever it is brought to our attention, as per the Rules and Regulations, they are NOT allowed in our gardens. Please help us keep the grounds beautiful and do NOT leave balloons here.
