We wanted to take a moment to respond to the attention that our wonderful, beautiful Maggie has been receiving lately on social media. While we appreciate the renewed interest in our girl and hope that it may lead to her finding her forever home, there is incorrect information being shared about her that we wanted to address. Maggie came to us from Charlotte, NC about 7 1/2 years ago as a puppy due to being rescued from witnessed abuse. Once she fully recovered from her broken pelvis, we adopted her out to an amazing, loving home where she lived for nearly 6 years. She was humanely returned to us due to unfortunate interactions within the family in December 2020 and we have been providing her excellent and loving care since that time. Recently she has under gone a surgical procedure to remove an intestinal foreign body (part of a rubber toy) and she is recovering well. The information being shared about her through various rescue groups/sites initiated by a disgruntled former employee (who has not worked with us for more than a year) is inaccurate and hurtful for those to have been caring for her so well during her time with us. While we share the desire to find her a permanent home and appreciate the help in that effort, we know that until the right home becomes available, Maggie is well loved and cared for by her original Heritage family. Please share as you feel appropriate. If interested in potentially adopting this sweet girl, please contact us to fill out an adoption application and we will be in touch.
