It is time for summer camp sign ups! Our camp strives to give our campers a well rounded experience that covers these wonderful horses.
Week #1: June 15-19- Beginner
Week #2: June 22-26- Beginner
Wee #3: July 6-10- Beginner
Week #4: July 13-17- Beginner
Week #6: Aug 3-7- Beginner
Beginner camp weeks are open to ages 5 and up. No experience required. Campers will be split into groups based on age and experience level. Riding portions will most likely be at a walk only.
Daily schedule and times are estimates. Schedule is subject to change based on weather and campers abilities.
Beginner camp daily schedule:
Monday:
8-8:15am: drop off
8:15-9:15am: feeding animals
9:15-9:45am: snack time for campers.
9:45am-11am: learn how to lead, give a treat properly, and quick release knot.
11am-11:45am: learn how to groom and tack up
11:45am-12:30pm: lunch
12:30pm-2pm: learn how to steer using partners and practice steering each other around.
2pm: pick up
Tuesday:
8-8:15am: drop off
8:15-9:15am: feeding animals
9:15-9:45am: snack time for campers.
9:45am- 10:15am: review on leading and quick release knot
10:15am-10:45am: learn and practice how to sit/balance/get on/off on a horse using barrels
10:45 am-12 pm: One group will ride horses and the other will do chores and then they will swap.
12-12:45pm: lunch
12:45pm-1:45pm: change and go swimming in the pond
1:45pm-2pm: change back
2pm: pick up
Wednesday:
8-8:15am: drop off
8:15-9:15am: feeding animals
9:15-9:45am: snack time for campers.
9:45am-10:15am: learn some basic stretches and exercises that help keep our bodies relaxed and strong for riding
10:15am-10:30am: quick review on brushes, quick release knot, leading, and steering
10:30am-11:45am: One group will ride horses and the other will do chores and then they will swap.
11:45am-12:30pm: lunch
12:30pm-1:45pm: play games
2pm: pick up
